Coming back in June

Plenty of info posted here on this topic (including mine) but a bit hard to find and remember it all. Looking for accom for my next trip to LOS in June and had planned to stop in BKK first but change of plans.

Coming for golf (hopefully) and relaxation but looking for somewhere to stay as follows:

Clean and with friendly staff.

Guest friendly.

Good to great pool/s.

Big rooms with Queen or bigger beds.

Spacious shower and / or bath.

Location close to the action preferred but not essential.

Most of the reviews are so old that it is almost a waste of time looking there.

Don't want to spend a fortune as there are other things I want to spend my money on.

Looked at many previous posts and most of the following seem okay: Areca, Sunshine, Sunshine Vista, Sabai Lodge, Residence Gardens, Flippers, Sandy Springs.

How would you all rate the above?

Hopeing for some helpful replies.

I haven't decided on my room yet either. I have a few in mind, also including Sandy Springs, but have yet to make a firm choice...

Areca Lodge often has many golfers staying, and I believe discounts are available for Pattaya Sports Club members.

The reviews for this hotel are all valid despite their age. I was there in February and will be back in June.

The residence gardens is a dump the worse hotel ive ever stayed in so knock that one of your list,it will leave more space for me and the lads i will be back at the residence gardens for my 5th time shortly i cant for the life of me think why i stay in such a crappy dump

Seriously i recommend it,there are cheaper like the flippers which are also exellent ive only stayed in the standard rooms in the flippers both hotels are ok right in the middle of the soi action 7/8.

Tell them Chris sent you should be good for a discount

It's not very close to the action though and it's a pain in the arse to go too and from there.

Mike he says hes not to particular about being near the action,i never found it a pain i always make for walking street area for last drinks and just jump on a moving baht bus near soi vc..

Hi winston nice of you to read the ops question shame you did not in another thread when you flamed me for no reason whatsoever surprisingly atleast you did not call mike a fucking wanker etc just for putting his 2 baht in.Hi misterc try sunshine vista nice rooms check out there site for more details and pics if you have not already www.sunshinevista.com.IMO its a great location a bit quiter than being in the centre of the action, big c close by and a short walk to beach road for plenty of taxis to take you south towards the action,also some great bars down soi 2 and a favourite music venue of mine kamp pan (sc) good luck

Resindence Garden works perfectly for me. I find no problems at all getting to or from RG. Baht buses run all the time, just get in a moving one and your there! It can be a little noisy during the day with the traffic but with the AC on and sliding glass door closed.........no ploblem. Also the gals love the place. Pool is nice and food is above avarage.

 

The laundry across the street (one on the left) is fantastic and far cheaper to use then RG.

 

Girl friendly, you will get strange looks if you don't bring someone back every night!

 

Peaceful days and rowdy humping nights for all.

Actually, as much as I hate to say it, wouldn't he be better off at the Haven Hotel. I'ts location is good, price is reasonable and you could easily hookup for a round of golf with the people who stay there.

My vote is also for Residence Garden....big suites, nice pool, good food, golfers are there and staff is very friendly.

My vote goes to the RG as well. I've never found it much of a problem to get to Walking Street or the Soi 7/8 area.

 

In fact, I'll be back there in 4 weeks time.

i used to stay at RG but their beds are very small. still a nice property although.

Then i found the Sabai new wing on Soi 2. nice reasonable sized rooms with balcony (no kitchen like RG but who cooks) and large bed.

Off season rates are about 50 baht higher at 1400 per night. 1800 in the high season and like res gardens every room has a balcony.

Actually just checked my comfirmation for July and the rate is 1350 baht.

The reception for Sabai Wing is actually in Soi 1, so it's best to go there and save yourself a walk from the main reception.

I'm going to LOS in June, its my first trip to Pattaya and I plan on staying at the Bay Breeze on a friends recommendation.

 

Has anyone stayed there and what do you think of the hotel?

 

I also thought about the Penthouse hotel. Any thoughts about that one?

Ozzie there are posts lately of the Penthouse hotel having mice/roaches. I understand this is south east asia but nevertheless, it is my opinion that a good hotel management should have a decent pest control service, the technology of pest control is not rocket science yah know...lol

I stayed at the Residence Garden last April and thought it was great. On my next trip in Nov, I will be staying at the Pinewood Residence Serviced Apts - at the suggestion of Martin at the FLB Bar. They also accept the FLB discount. Its on Soi 5, on the other side of 2nd rd. Close to everythng - or not far from everything. I selected the deluxe room 60sqm with kitchenette, breakfast included, ethernet connection in room etc..
