To find out the world's top 10 airlines, 12 million passengers in 94 countries were questioned, and here is the result:

1) Cathay Pacific

2) Qantas

3) Emirates

4) Singapore Airlines

5) British Airways

6) Malaysia Airlines

7) Thai Airways

8) Qatar Airways

9) Asiana Airlines

10) Ana All Nippon Airlines

Thai Airways won the prize for food in economy class and Asiana has the best cabin crew.

Having flown with 6 out of the top 7 airlines the rest must be bad if Qantas & British Airlines get a high rating as I thought there service was very poor

Hi Tazzydevil,

I definitely agree with you. I flew Qantas LHR-BKK-LHR earlier this year and I must say that their product does not live up to the standard of the Asian airlines.

Even though Thai does not provide PTV on most of their fleet, the service and legroom makes up for the lack of entertainment. :clap1

And those cute flight attendants....

Those results looked AFU. I have flown singapore, and thai. Singapore is definately one of the best but thai has a long way to go. I would rate eva, united, and several others ahead of thai. :clap1

So Thai airways won the prize for the best food!

When we flew back with them last month they handed us a menu showing the two main meal choices. Not only didn't they have either of the meals I selected but the alternative offered in each case was not on the menu either!

Having said that, other than the food I found Thai Airways really good.

Back to EVA however for next visit in October. Picked up an alergic reaction from one of EVA's curries on a previous trip - my lips turned dark blue. I thought it was a first night STD!

I flew BIMAN (Bangladesh Airways) once (only once, never ever again). The plane was dirty - ingrained dirt, not surface dirt - as if it had only ever been wiped over, never with hot soapy water. The flight attendants were great but the passengers were some of the most unpleasant people I've ever encountered. The ground staff, especially at Dakar airport were the absolute worst I've ever seen, they actually went out of their way to make things difficult for the white travellers.

But, the food was by far the best I've ever had on a plane, go figure.

One thing's for sure and the list proves it. No US Airlines should be there.

I think they are in the top 10 for oldest and ugliest flight attendants.

Disregarding cost, my paticular favourites over the last ten years or so would be:

1. Singapore

2. Qatar

3. China Airlines

4. EVA

5. Emirates

6. Swiss

7. BA

8. Thai

There have been others that are totally forgetable but I'm getting too old for that type of crap nowadays. It's quite sad to think that, at one time, the likes of Tarom and Biman were on the list of possibles!

I've not flown with Cathay yet ....... perhaps if they reintroduce their MAN service I would be tempted. Although Malaysia have a good reputation and good flight times from MAN, I always have this vision of screaming families on their once in a lifetime trip to see the relatives in Oz that puts me off.

I think it really depends upon whether you are flying in the front or the back of the plane. For instance, I consider Thai to be good in economy but their premium products are shit.
