Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

I will be travelling to Pattaya at the begginning of August with friends and we are looking for a good hotel near the beach.

Can anyone give me some advise on where to stay and will we get any discount if we book 6 single rooms for a week.

Thanks.

On the cheap end check out www.skytoppattaya.com rooms with ac, cable TV and fridge go for 450 per night and up. One block from the beach. Clean decent hotel for the price. Pete the Aussie owner will discount. Another good place a little closer to the beach www.flippergroup.com and at a higher price.

That's one heck of a long block, BigD!!!!! :D

For the first time punter Flipper Lodge on Soi 8 is a good value that will take the id's of the ladies and watch your back. They usually have a buy 6 get one day free thing going this time of year. Check out the hotel reviews on this site. And they really are a 100 meters from the beach. Eastiny and Bella Vista are also close in the Soi 7/8 area.

There are LOTS of hotels within sight of the beach all along Beach Rd. Checkout a map of the city and I'm betting there have to be dozens......

Hard Rock and Marriott are right on the beach but they cost (Bt3500+). As mentioned above, the flipper group ( http://www.flippergroup.com/ ), the Sandy Spring ( http://www.sandyspringhotel.com/ ) and the Eastiny are well located budget (less than Bt1000 per day) hotels.

The Honey Inn on South Pattaya Road at the gates of Walking Street is another contender as is the Welcome Plaza and the Royal Palace on 2nd Road.

Steve,

Sky-Top is located on 2nd Road. It's the same length as walking from 2nd Road to Beach Road on Soi 8. I realize a man of your advanced years (he's the guy you see in the walker with the big smile and the pretty 19 y/o nurse :P) may have a small difficulty making that long long walk. :D

Referring to SkyTop as one block from the beach is stretching it a bit IMO. While it may be technically correct, it is deceptive.

Flipper, Honey Inn, Sawadee Seaview and many others are decidedly closer to the beach as I recall.

And Dusit and Siam Bayshore would be close as well in the high-end market.

In a few decades I fully intend to have a 19 yo personal attendent caring for my needs in LOS.... :D :P

I stayed at flipper july 5-10. Paid 700 baht per night for standard room new wing and 900 baht for delux room new wing. flipper is okay but pretty barren. new wing isn't new just newer than the other. service was good a/c was okay but could not get the room cold, just cool. standard room is small.

if you have the money I would recommend staying at the sabai lodge new building about 1300 baht or sandy springs about 1300 baht. sandy won't negotiate much but sabai might give you a really good rate if you are booking 6 rooms and paying in advance. location is 1 block from beach and near alot of activity. :D :P
