I remember mention a few months back about a new computer mall in Pattaya where you can buy dvds, software etc but I cannot find the posts again...

Would some kind soul point me in the right direction ?

It is called TUKCOM and you should be able to get any taxi driver to help you out.

Here is the map from the site:

Tukcom has quite nice setup of computer components, software, dvd's and the mentioned mobile phones.

The computer and related stuff is located in the upper floors. I personally buy my dvd's from the... err umm fourth floor is it I think, Rhino store. They have good quality copies for 200b including DTS sounds etc.

There are pretty good software stores too but since I never buy software I dont know what they really have.

Also the building have some sporting stores, bookshop, cafes and some other stuff that never interested me to check them out more thoroughly.

  • 2 weeks later...

Assuming that Tukcom is the IT City et al. on So. Pattaya Rd. Then I will post the following observations:

If you are in the area then they can cover a lot of your non bar needs. There are two banking facilities and multiple ATMs to cover your financial needs.

There is a food court (mostly Thai) in the basement. Pizza, Japanese food (maybe only noodles?) and one or two other places to eat are located on the entrance level. Also on this level you’ll find a Starbucks and a Timeout Ice cream cart that employs “an exceptionally cute Thai womanâ€.

Most electronics are also available on the 2nd – 6th floors.

I didn’t find everything that I was looking for but I was pretty much happy with the selections (although in retrospect some items seemed to be cheaper in BKK).

watch out for the "zones' trap. PS and xbox games purchased in some zones dont work on machines bought in others unless the machines have a modification chip put in them. I have an xbox and have this problem. You can get your brit machine chipped, tho in oz it is illegal to have it done. this is known as the free enterprise system!!! I bought a number of games at the new IT centre for 100-150 baht and will get my machine chipped to play them. I also bought my son some photograph software for 200 baht, which works really well on his computer
