Been home exactly 7 days and just completed booking my 6 week long return for Jan. 08,2006.

After 20 trips, mostly on Air Canada with codeshare and flying west from Canada, I have booked an eastern route for the first time with Air france out of Montreal.

Anyone have any comments on Air France service, or services at the airport in Paris during my layover - 8 hours ( hopefully a day hotel ).

I am wondering whether or not the jetlag will be different by changing direction...I do not want to be to shagged before hitting Soi 6 again.

Cheers to all.

Bear194,

I used Air France last summer from Paris to Lagos, Nigeria(only time I have used them) I found the product rather bad, but it might have been the routing. I know a few fight attendants in different European airlines and they tell me that they really hate flying in and out of Nigeria (probably explains the bad service).

Believe it or not guys, but Lagos' airport code is LOS (not exactly Land of Smiles)

Lagos should be described as Land of Shit :ang2

You should be ok flying them to Bangkok :D

Used to be a cheap flight from BKK to MNL and return. Used them for that route and the service was good. No complaints. Unfortunately, they have now closed that route due to lack of interest.

Cheers

Bear,

I have found they are not a whole lot better or worse than any other major carrier.

I prefer private carriers such as Eva.

As airports go I think CDG is crappy. Poor and very expensive food selections, crappy shopping (was better some years ago).

Bottom line, its shite compared to Schipol.

I think you will be pretty bagged by the time you hit BKK as 8 hours is a long layover and you are going against the clock (jet lag is much worse going west to east).

Used them last year, not to good with service and they keep using french when they know your english :cry1

Expecting the French to speak English? That's comparable to expecting a bg to keep to a budget. :D

Air France?

I flew them USA-Paris-Lisbon-Paris-Bkk-Paris-USA last December. On each of the long legs, I experienced food sickness...so, if you want to loose weight, skip the health club, fly air france.

Rengoh, I disagree! I fly to Bangok at least once every two months and mostly fly Air France. Nice service and the best plane food you can get on European carriers, except Swiss.

Much better than any US airline (and I have flown on most of them!) :D

I used them twice this year London - Paris - Bangkok - no complains. Advantage of flying with them I could spread over 3 seats and sleep all the way. Good for preventing jet lag.

CDG toilets are dirty
