Lobin and Lobert get stuffed at the 18th.

Well aparently she was at least 30.

It had been a game fraught with unsportsman like behaviour but we put this down to Lobin having had, shall we say, an energetic night, for someone in his twilight years. The day started badly when at 9.55am I called him to ask where he was and lo and behold the fucked out old sod was still in bed. So we arrived at Burapa somewhat late and his partner Lobert was already on his fifth cup of coffee by then and not looking that friendly.

By the 5th Tony and me were 3 up and by the ninth the first bet was not only secure but the back nine was looking pretty good as well.

The Catz pair however fought back to only needing a half on the 18th and here is what happened.

I hit a tree and then fucked up on my 3rd and 4th shot so picked up.

Lobert hacked his way half way down the fairway and picked up leaving only Lobin and Tony to decide the overall as well as the back 9.

Lobin had a 60 yard pitch for his 3rd shot onto the green and Tony a 60 yarder for the same which he duffed with the ball going barely 3 yards.

Lobin hits a fantastic 3rd to within 8 feet of the pin and Tony says, "well I need to hole this one then", and takes a gentle but calculated stroke at the ball.

The ball pitches high and lands on the front edge of the green before it continues slowly but surely on its way and plops straight into the hole. We cheer loudly and Lobin scratches his head in dissbelief but it is not over yet as he can still get the half by sinking his 8 footer which he does,

not.

So next week Lobin is off to Cambodia. Oh forgot to say he also lost a bundle to Tony on side bets. Sorry Lobin but Tony told me to do this. Hehehehehe.

Oh what music to my ears! Sweet revenge for the roasting you and I suffered at the hands of the 2 Rs recently. Sounds like a high stakes game when the loser gets banished to Cambodia!

Give my congratulations to Tony for a carefully executed final shot. D'Artagnan would never be favourite when standing over an 8 footer after a session!

To correct a few inaccuracies - You can't blame the poor old sod for forgetting, let's face it - it's at least 6 hours since we finished . :o

Tony's and my pitches were from 90yds. I went first and stuck it to 4 feet (the only pitch I got anywhere near a green all day as Bruce will testify - I played like my mother), quietly thinking that's got the half at worst.

Tony then as you say duffs his 3 feet, so now I "know" we've won the hole. Then THAT happened. Criminal. :nod

Although Tony did lose (not win) 400 baht in side bets in total. Had he not holed that pitch it would have been 1400 - that's why he was dancing around like a ballerina on acid. B)

Either way I was gutted, Brian.

Cheers

Lobin missed a three-footer?

Now that's unusual. :banghead

Let me guess, it never even scared the cup?

He only makes those after he's hit a rake and the Cup's on the line.

well pitches from 90 yards...could have been 300 yards when u sent yours to 4 foot from the pin but as the true players always say....class shows through...and it did with my 90 yard chip and run...A bit lucky...i suppose but if you aint aiming them in the right dirrection they wont go in the right direction as robin will testify on numerous shots that had and probably a lot more had he not picked up through the 1st 3 holes.

Yes lost 400 but felt as though i had won after that chip and as far as a ballerina i would liken it more to a dancing elephant who was so happy because he had just munched his way through a ton of bananas or was it fried pork cant remember :nod

anyway top day as usual with great company as well
