Those two boat shaped hotels about soi 12 Beach road, I can't remember the name. Always fancied a stay there, A bit pang I expect. Don't suppose they welcome extra guests either. Anyone stayed ?

I think the hotel you mean is called the A-one. It is on beach road and the corner of soi 2. Have never stayed there but from people i have spoken to the reports are good. The chinese coach groups go there early evening for a buffet meal by the pool wich does look quite good. Sorry i have no idea on prices though. Hope this helps.

A web search might come up with contact information:

They had some kind of karaoke going a couple early evenings with all the windows open in September and I could hear it inside my room at the BJ Holiday Lodge accross the street! :bow

Does seem the customers are predominantly asian tour groups, but it shouldn't matter I guess. The fitness room is all glass on the outside and a thai female mentioned that it was a nice set-up.

Hi All,

I priced the A4 Cruise Hotel on the corner Soi 2/Beach Road. It was a few years ago and I cant remember exactly how the room rate was, but I definatly remember thinking that it was very cheap for such a "classy" hotel. So may be worth looking at their web site for room rates.

Nice hotel inside but I am sure they would have joiner fee.

Regards to all.

Don't stay there. They are not guest friendly. They have a security uard on the elevator. The Asian tour groups tie up the elevator and the breakfast restaurant. If you are mongering, it is not the place to go. There are lots of good alternatives within a few sois.

Hmm.. a hotel that doesn't want a shagathon in it's rooms. I find that a bit of a challenge. Don't you just wish you had the balls to walk into the foyer of such a place with 4-5 BG's ? Then speak in a really loud voice, asking for 5 bottles of the best Chamagne sent to your room in half an hour ? Wave to all the guests sitting in the lounge, as you walk to the lift.- Great. :bow

It is called the A1 Royal Cruise and is at Soi 2. I have never stayed there before but as i am taking my wife for the first time so i have decided to give it a try. It has cost me £430 GB pounds for 15 nights. Reviews say it is not guest friendly and they charge 500 baht. There is a cheaper hotel between Soi 1 and 2 (about 50mts from the A1) on the beach that is lady friendly and nearly all the hotels around soi 7 and 8 are also guest friendly, all these hotels are around the 600baht mark. I have stayed in a lot of these over the years but have found them to be a bit run down. At the end of the day you get what you pay for (hopefully).
