Hi Guys,

2 questions for those in the know

1) Has anyone flown prem econ on the Tokyo - Bangkok leg of your journey

2) Was it worth the price & How much extra was it??

Thank for any replies

I fly United all the time from Narita to BKK on flight 881 which gets you into Bkk at 11:30 PM. Its a 747 and they only have 3 classes, economy, business and first. Never heard of preminum economy unless your talking about economy plus in which case every thing is the same as economy except you have an additional 5" of legroom. I wouldn't know how much more this costs as they throw me in that section automatically because of my FF status.

thanks Emil,

Yes that is the flight, I looked at the seat plan and I took the economy plus to be

preminum economy ?

As I will be buying the ticket in Pattaya (I hope) I was just hoping to get a deal (I could do with the extra leg room)

Thanks for the help

Moby69.

Basically Economy Plus is reserved for “Elite†Frequent Flyers (ie Star Alliance gold or above and infrequently for silver level members).

UA BKK-NRT(UA 882) is a very popular and is usually full thus it provides for minimal chance to get a economy plus seat without FF status. As a Star Alliance gold (UA Premier Executive) customer on a couple of flights out of BKK I’ve been relegated to regular economy seats.

For what its worth you might consider Thai Air as their economy "seat pitch†is almost the same as UA Economy Plus.

Cheers!

Bill

Tahoe_Bill,

Thanks for that :bow

It looks like I'm stuffed & will be in Cattle class with all those little honeys (some chance)

I've booked the seats as I got a good price (I think)

Thank you for your reply

Moby,

If you buy the economy plus card you can rebook the seats. The biggest addition for being in economy plus is not that the seat have 5 inches more of pitch. UNITED keeps the middle seats vacant in economy plus and fills them last. If there are 6 empty seats in the coach it will be center seats in economy plus. On several trips between bkk and nrt The center seat was open even though the plane was very full. Allows you to put up the armrest and stretch your legs into the area under the other seat. :angry2 :thumbup

Thanks Cowboy,

I had a look at the card but the cost put me off as I think this might be the only time I ever use United.

If I was based in USA I would proably get one

Thanks again for all the replies
