Anyone know if the Mercure hotel is guest friendly? It looks pretty nice. I did a search and couldn't find much.

:D If I am reading you correctly you haven't left yet, does this mean you are still in Pattaya,if so Amazing, why not simply go and ask them??? :allright

Bullshit,

  :banana

1700 for a superior room.

Up until Sunday 22/01/06 my mate was staying at the Mercure on a discounted standard room rate negotiated with Christoph the manager in June 2005 when the hotel first opened.

On Thursday of last week an acquittance showed up at the Mercure and told my mate he was paying 2300 baht for a standard room. My mate thought this was steep and checked with reception who confirmed that the rate was in fact 2300 baht for a standard room.

So.......

I actually tried to find it (didn't try very hard), but always get the 13/X sois confused.

Its located on Soi 15 which can be accessed from Second Road or from Soi Bukaow. The hotel has a tuk-tuk and taxi (baht bus style) that ferries passengers from the hotel down to Second Road and back again.

If you go to the Second Road end of Soi 15 they have a couple of blokes in uniforms who sort of supervise the service.

If you wanted to go up to the hotel you could jump on as they don't check if your a guest but it would be advisable to go into the hotel once you get off or the transport blokes at the hotel end might get suspicious. :banghead

Chok dee kap.

A-ha! That explains it. The map I was looking at said it was on Soi Post Office. Hmmmm, maybe I don't want to be staying here. Perhaps Bella Prima Villa is worth a look.

Thanks again TC!

I stayed at the mercure in december 2 nights in standard room for 1400 baht and 1 night in queen suite for 1700 baht. BTW the standard room is smaller but a nicer room the the queen suites. Layout of the queen suite is piss poor.

Rate on website changes constsantly. lowest rate for a standard room that I have seen on the website is 1100 baht. The next day when I checked 2300 baht for the same nights. When I checked back 2 days later it was 1400 baht. That is when booked. When I got to the hotel the could find my reservation even though I had a printout with the reservation number. But they offered to check me in at the 1400 baht. I did. Later they found the reservation and accussed me of making duplicated room bookings. Desk staff was complete fk idiots.

They seem to be guest friendly but I did not see may punters there. Lots of european couples. :clueless
