Bella Villa Prima

Hi Guys,

 

Well I decided to try a change from the RG and had heard a couple of things to suggest Bella Villa Prima on Soi 4 might be worth trying.

 

So after a 6 night stay I confirm this is a good hotel.

 

The hotel is opposite the Pattaya International Hospital on Soi 4. This is a fairly quiet soi and it easy to get to and from. The baht buses on the beach road take you in to town and the ones on the second road bring you home again. The hotel feels to be very well located and has plenty of ammenities nearby, e.g. laundry and shops just down the road.

 

I paid 1,400 baht for a standard room and this is a very nice room, king size bed, nice bathroom, balony and free and fast wireless internet access. I would also agree with others that it is a better room than the RG.

 

The furniture in the room is nice and a bit funky with the big square lamp shades etc. The girls certainly like the room and no problems bringing girls in although they must leave their ID card at reception. I used to be a little unhappy with that routine but these days I see only benefits to it.

 

The hotel also has a small exercise room but there is enough to tide you over if you don't fancy going to one of the gyms around town. It is well airconditioned though. The pool area is nice and all in all I think this hotel is very good value for the money and I would certainly use it again.

Nice Review! I hated Sabai Lodge (Wing), even though everybody seems to praise it (have no idea why!). So I'd like to try this place next time.

Everything at Sabai Wing was great except the AC. No thermostat. So you freeze or sweat.

Though the AC has no thermostat, I have heard that there is an adjustment for the compressor that is not "normally" not accessable. On my trip this March I am staying at the Sabai Resort (which I assume will have the same AC setup) and might make a run over to the Big-C for screwdriver/pliars and take a look.

As to meatjoy's post, it's hard to come up with something to cause this reaction. I would say other than the AC the next "worst" item is the hot water which is one of those small tankless jobs on the wall of the bathroom. It might have trouble keeping pressure up if you like it hot.

 

On the plus side you have nice clean new rooms, a nice pool and a good layout with all rooms overlooking the pool (no views of construction/destruction). I have never (in 4 stays) had any glitch in the service at all. The food is fine with good room service (though the kitchen closes a little early). Reasonably quite (loud drunken are usually the only noise). Location is always personal preference, but Soy 2 / 2nd does have some plusses.

 

That said, I looked into the Bella Villa Prima and it looks fine too. Maybe a tad higher quality, but I don't know if the service is as good. Both are quite new.I don't think you can go wrong with a coin flip.

Are you sure about that? I just left Patts on Friday and my friend was staying here and he said he seen the hotel staff not let a BG eat and got turned away from Breakfast.

At the Bella Villa Prima?

They are very girlfriend friendly, but I doubt they will let her eat breakfast for free. They add, I think, 100 Baht a day for one breakfast. If your friend was willing to pay for her breakfast, I'm sure there wouldn't have been a problem.

I've booked at the BVP starting 24th. Couldn't get the room etc pictures on my computor - maybe because I've got a mac. But the good reports and the wifi internet were decisive for me.

 

Is their wifi fine with a mac? (Maybe stupid question, but I'c computor illiterate). And does anyone know if the wifi really works in the rooms, or just the lobby?

 

Seem to recall reading on another thread that they will allow just one girl to be taken to a room. Does anyone know this is or isn't true?

 

Their e-mail did say that just one breakfast is provided, which is reasonable as long as they are happy to allow other breakfasts that are paid for.

 

Guess I can ask them all this when there, but will appreciate knowing beforehand from someone's actual experience, if possible.

Your airport wifi card in your Mac should find the wireless signal just fine, and the wifi at the BVP is accessible from most, if not all of the rooms.

Hi, sorry don't know the answer to that one, didn't watch much TV :)

 

Also to address the girl friendly point, I took a different girl every night and not one problem. My girls don't get to stay for breakfast so i can't comment if they get breakfast for free or not. I think 100 for the girl to eat is pretty fair though as suggested.

Does anyone know what, if anything, the standard room at the bvp has in the way of a kitchenette - presumably there is at least a fridge? Intending to take a standard room for a month, but thought maybe it may be more economical (apart from other advantages) to take a studio and periodically bring in food, since I intend to stay a month and the accommodation costs at bvp are pressuring my budget.

 

Is their food/restaurant (thai rather than western) reasonably priced and reasonably good - ie without big hotel premiums over an outside restaurant?

 

Views and advice will be much appreciated.

 

(My first trip to Pattaya, and am trying to prepare it with the help of this terrific forum and you guys' experience.)

The standard room does have a small kitchen area just inside the door and across from the bathroom. Sink, cabinets, and some small related items. There was no cook top and I don't remember if there was a microwave or not. You might e-mail them and ask.

Hi Guys I still find it very hard to stay in any other Hotel in Pattaya other than Sabai I know the air con is an issue but I generally keep on low during the night and seems to be OK. Other than the air con IMHO I think the Hotel is great have stayed at a few other hotels and Sabai beats them all hands down

I just spent 10 days at the Sabai Lodge (Sabai Wing) and am now at the Bella Villa Prima. I like this hotel much, much better than the Sabai Lodge. It's a better value, I really appreciate the WiFi, and the decor/amenities are better. Don't get me wrong, Sabai Lodge is definitely a nice hotel, but if I had to pick between the two I'd go with BVP. I'll write reviews on both when I get home.
