Don Joe food available in FLB

Recommended Posts

It came to my attention a few nights ago that a long time board member and customer of FLB didn't know that he could order any Don Joe Italian Restaurant menu item in the FLB. Just ask for the "Menu Don Joe" (saying it like a Thai "menooo don jo" works) and then tell your service person which item number(s) you want. Within a short time, a (generally cute) waitress in a beret will start wandering around the bar looking for you.

The food is good, the service is pretty fast, and the prices are the same as if you ate in the restaurant.

FLB has been doing this for years, but apparently it's not well known.

I don't know of any 600b pizzas. As I recall, they cost between 180 and 300b, depending on the toppings.

I had the pizza several times while in FLB and it hit the spot! That was a lot better than the locust the girls were offering me :allright , although I had some locust later :D . :chogdee2

I've eaten at Don Joe's last trip and throughly enjoyed the food. Better then I thought it would be.

Now if we could just get a hoagie and Philly cheesesteak shop in Pattaya..........

Had a totally mediocre pizza in there about 2 weeks ago.

Formulaic and about on par with Pizza Hut.

Had a far better one in a mom and pop joint in the arcade off 2nd Road near soi Diana.

You set one up and I will be your best customer. My first meal when I get back to the states is always a Philly cheese steak. I'd give it some serious thought if you are considering moving here. :chogdee2

I'll need to have a look at the menu when I'm next in. :chogdee2

Where is their restaurant, by the way?

Don Joe is about 50 feet down from FLB towards Covent Garden. There is a huge sign above the street with Joe's picture.

Just checked back on this thread.

MM I must have been mistaken

Ithought there was two sizes. But just to check the ones I bought were wider than the bar top. Unless my memory is once again faulty as the last one was 2 years ago.

Looking forward to meeting you and Keith in August when I will also get Moulie to choose the toppings again .

Cheers

I think those very large pizzas were from the burger stand to the right of FLB (as you face the entrance). Most people order Don Joe food now.

I'll second the Don Joe's recommendations. Last night Keith and I had the Pepper Steak, and was WELL worth it. I didn't know they closed at midnight and walked in to the resturant itself about 30 sec after. They still delivered to FLB and I made sure to compensate them for working late for the falang maow.
