Bella Villa Prima v/s Sunshine Vista

Recommended Posts

Need to thank a few guys who have been a great help in helping me decide

where to stay for a week in August.

1. zaphodbeeblebrox

2. Cybers1b

Now the Big Question..

Bella Villa Prima ( Prima Suite ) or the two bedroom suite at Sunshine Vista ??

Price quoted to me was almost simmilar in both places , except BVP is a bit cheaper with breakfast thown in as well.

Any comments on the quality of the suites would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Rogue

Have stayed in both and would choose BVP. It is good value but the breakfast is not really worth bothering with. They will reduce the price if you ask them to exclude breakfast.

I was evaluating the same 2 hotels but chose Sunshine Vista because another BM posted this in a review.. Kinda put me off BVP.

No top sheet on bed. Only a bottom sheet and a warm blanket/comforter that they said they changed and cleaned every second day. Bullshit! I cut my leg my third day and the small blood spots were still there a week later. Makes me wonder if I was using the same one the occupant before me used. I asked for a topsheet and even showed them how I wanted the bed made. They refused to do so.

I can safely say that my sheets are cleaned everyday and changed daily because I express that desire early on the first day I arrive in any hotel.

I also tip a minimum of 20 - 50 baht per day to the cleaning lady. This sometimes equates to double that if there are two cleaning ladies that clean the rooms. It is still worth it as I also ask to have a minimum of 5 towels since I shower often and use that much with the women I bring back to the room.

Tip accordingly and show your appreciation for their efforts. It pays you back tenfold.

Thank you all for the replies. Appreciate it.

themook :- Just a silly question , why will the bvp be so quiet ?

Dotcom_OD :- Your right about the tipping, guess the service staff might go the extra mile for a small tip

Hall :- How was your stay at the sunshine vista ?

Stinger_sd :- If i need to get a baht Bus to walking street , I guess i have to get out from the soi to the beach road ?

Hanylek :- if you dont mind , other than the two hotels mentioned , which would your fav hotel be ?

Sadherbert :- Heard that other than the regular American Fare , the bvp also has some thai food for breakfast.

Rogue.

If you don`t care too much a bout the pool then Bella villa prima will be your Number one choice in the city

If you care a bout the pool you have two choice-1- Areca lodge but it`s very hard to make reservation you must book 4 or 5 month on advance

-2- Sabai Resort Deluxe B which i have booked it for 1250 Baht http://www.sabairesort.in.th/lobbygarden.htm

No problems. Can highly recommend the place. BUT I have never stayed at the BVP so I can't really compare.

The breakfast at BVP is all sorts of food - all of it limp, lifeless and tasteless. I agree with others re the pool - Sabai Lodge, excepting Sabai Wing, is now tired and the rooms in need of a makeover but nowhere beats its main pool.

  • 4 months later...

I am down to these 2 also for December visit.

Question about non-smoking:

Bella Prima does not have non-smoking. Anyone who has stayed there ever have a problem with a smoky room??

Does Sunshine Vista offer non-smoking??

Question 2

Are there parts of Sunshine Vista where noise is fine. Bill Wilson seems to love it so the noise coulnd't be that bad.

Thanks Mate.

My Thai Wife and I have used Sunshine Vista many, many, times and are very happy with the rooms, service and location. I am coming accross in December too for a Recce of other places as I intend to ship my Mum out for a holiday next year.

I am staying at Nova Lodge for a few days before heading up country...I shall be back in Sunshine Vista for New Year with the family.

Please let me know what you decide and what you think.

I have just checked Asiarooms.com and 2,200 for a junior suite is good value....where did you book??
