I am writing this from my laptop on my balcony on the 8th floor of the Sandy Spring. I just opened up the laptop, searched for wireless signal, found one and opened up Safari on my Mac. Works like a charm. The signal is called 'belkin54g'. I haven't a clue what that is but its nice that it works.

Belkin 54 is the Hacker that stays right below you on the 7th floor!! 1luv

You're just jealous! I'm watching the sun spread across Pattaya bay while I check my e-mail. I think I'll move here and just work by e-mail.

No construction that makes any noise at the Sandy Spring. Just a little bar noise from Beach Road. The night view of Pattaya Bay is great. I'm looking at it now while checking this site and reviewing my e-mails. Life is good!

Hi jimmac

I'll be out in 10 days and I'm thinking of staying at the SS. Is it very full at the moment? What sort of rate did you get, and was it walk in or pre-booked?

I'm thinking of a Deluxe Sea View room, as it would be nice to look out to the sea. Just wondering if they're half empty and doing good rates at the moment.

Have fun

I'm in a sea view suite, two rooms with a huge bathroom and a huge balcony. It costs 2500 Baht/night. I pay because I'm only here 5 nights. It's a bit expensive for a long stay.

I like the rooms. The balcony is fabulous. And one thing Sandy Spring has done right is put all the AC units at the back of the building where you don't hear them. Every time I look up at a hotel in Pattaya I see AC units on the balcony. Who wants to sit on a balcony with all that fucking noise blasting in your ear? Sandy Spring made a good decision on that.

My Tilac for two nights this week thought it was great. And she was great.

I also don't want to mislead about the Wifi. When I started this thread it was working like a charm but since then somethimes its great and sometimes I can't get my browser to open on it. So don't expect a guarantee but if you have a laptop, try it on the balcony.

To answer your question, I've stayed at Sandy Spring 4 times and I find it impossible to estimate occupancy. Just go on their website and e-mail them or try the Scandibar route. I don't think they vary their rates.

I don't think they vary their rates.

If you book through the hotel they definitely change the rates. If you read through all the reviews of the Sandy Spring you will find people claiming they were charged a different rate than the next guy.

Sandibar does not.

Off topic but someone has asked about this hotel so I went to check it out. Everything looks beautiful and the location is terrific very close to Pattaya's dirtiest beach. <grin

On the plus side, it's across from Lek Hotel which has a nice buffet breakfast.
