When you check out of the Apex, be sure to remind them to refund your 1,000 baht deposit( because they they will not remind you) for the key to the in room safe and do not lose your receipt. A lot of guys have lost their deposits because they lost/discarded their receipts and/or didn't remind reception to refund their deposits upon checking out. Also, they will not let you put your own snacks and drinks in their fridge in the room and make you buy their own overpriced snacks/drinks already provided. This was the case when I stayed their back in 2002. If you're on a budget, that's the only reason to stay there, but you get what you pay for.

Hi my friends

Me and my mate stayed at the Apex last year during the songkran and were

not very impressed, i have stayed there many times but i am afraid as pattaya

mad says it as become a shit hole and badly in need of a renovation.

The plus sign is the price and GF and has nothing else for me there, i have stopped

staying there although it is a great location.

It is sad to see the place run down like it is, reminds me of the Beach View hotel

soi 2 to which i stayed 10 times and also became a shit hole, although it has now

had a complete renovation and is open but i understand it is not cheap.

Back to the Apex and as been said its everyones choice you want to stay Apex

you stay Apex that's it for 500bt.

The new front extension which opened in 2000 with carpet floor is particularly bad, the carpets badly stained and smelly and with cigarette burns and holes.

The less said about the air conditioning the better i think, your better switching it off if you want to get a little sleep.

I have had some very good times at the Apex and it has been value for money

but until it has a complete renovation i will not stay there .

I do not see the point of traveling some 7000 miles to stay in a shit hole when

there are some very good hotel close by.

:D

Why stay in a dump like the Apex when there are plenty of good places for around 700 a night,I stayed last month in Sabai Inn for that price, nice big room, huge bed, good furniture, electronic in room safe and use of lovely pool over the road in Sabai Lodge.

While there are mongers out there looking to stay in these shit holes they will do nothing about it! I've been flamed a few times stateing that, for paying peanuts you get shit :D

I disagree there are a few hotels that are cheap but good value and clean. Sky-Top and Bert's new place on soi 6.1 come to mind. Let's not forget the Queen Vic, Lord Nelson and the Pig & Whistle.

yes there are are few, but at the end of the day you get what you pay for! I can understand if you'd stay at the pig & whistle, you would have the best english grub in Pattaya downstairs :chogdee2

  • 4 months later...

I`ve used the restaurant for brekfast in the past,

but I think a better option if you want a buffet style

breakfast is the Diana inn just up the road.

The eggs are done any style to order in front of you,

and the eating area is more comfortable with good

air con .

I would not consider staying at the Apex when for only

a few hundred baht more you can get a far better place.
