air france seem to be the cheapest deals around at the moment , around £500 return bhx-bkk via paris .. is cheaper than lgw-bkk as well so nearer for me .

has anyone used them ? need some reviews to see if the saving is worth any potential discomfort

I only used them from Paris to London and from Paris to Kiev, I did not rate them highly, the service was not the best for a European airline.

I would not use them, if I had the choice.

mahan air office is on hagley road, get in touch with them.

Hagley Road.....that takes me back, used to live off there when I was student at Univ B'ham in '75.......what a dump!

Mahan Air has been coming up on a few searches Biz class from Manchester.

I don't think Tehran will be a good transit since they stopped the dancing Mullahs show.

Used Air France from Dublin to BKK via Paris 3 times in the last 6 months. Generally good experience - good food - only one delay - good seats / price and own in seat TV with about 10 movies plus games and other programmes.

I would recommend and use again. Just my 2 cents worth !

It sounds like Air France is out, but FYI, I flew AF from the States to Moscow and it was a great flight. Actually four legs, US to Paris, Paris to Moscow and the same route on the return. The food was the best I've had on an airline and they gave out free wine and Champagne. The service was great and the hostesses were some real lookers. I can't think of any complaints.

Problem is, that was about 8 years ago so I don't know if things have changed since then.

I took Air France from New York (JFK) to Paris (CDG) about 2 years ago and was pleasantly surprised. Admittedly this was in business class, which ought to be very good anyway, and I was quite pleased with the food, service, seats, etc. CDG, however, is one of the worst airports I've experienced, but that's something for another already-done-to-death thread.

  • 3 weeks later...

Last year I flew Air France Manchester-Ghuangzhou (China) for £370 return. Cheap but wasn't over impressed with the flight and the service. Wasn't impressed with CDG Airport, was on a tight connection and was panicking during the inter-terminal bus transfer, luckily I just made it!

Have since used both Emirates and KLM to fly to Bangkok. Wasn't impressed with KLM and have just booked another MAN-BKK ticket with Emirates :banghead
