Taxi to Pattaya from Sukhumvit Road (BKK)

Recommended Posts

I am complete newbie. it is not untill the 3 week mark before my first trip I am now only worring about getting transport to Pattaya from my hotel in BKK.

Could my hotel (Manhattan in BKK or Sawasdee Sea View in Pattaya) arrange something? Just get a Metered taxi or try this Toom I keep hearing about (I have no contact details yet as I am headin to bed now, will search tomorrow) dose he pick up from hotels instead of the airport?

Nakaleen,

Yes Mr Toom picks up from hotels in Bangkok, we have used him several times from Bangkok hotel to Pattaya hotels. Same price 1200 baht with tolls included in the price. Have also used him several times from Pattaya hotel to Bangkok hotel.

Mr Toom's contact info can be found in the 'Meeting-cost sharing' section.

Just pull over a Taxi and ask him if he'll take you to pattaya for 1300 baht including toll fares... I think this is just over right. can someone confirm how much it is now? I think i paid 800 baht to get back to bangkok.

If you want to save some baht take the skytrain to the Ekamai bus terminal (cost 30 baht) then go to the Pattaya window and get the express bus to Pattaya (cost about 125 baht). they leave every half hour and once you get to the bus terminal in Pattaya jump on one of the waiting baht buses there (cost 20 baht). You want to get on one that is going down Beach Rd and get off at Soi 10 or is it 11.

Nakaleen,

Another option is O.N. Taxi. I have used them a few times and found them satisfactory. About the same price as Leo Tex quotes for Mr Toom, and in either case a good deal less than arranging through a hotel.

anything your hotel arranges will be too expensive. As said above you can just ask cabs on the street to take you to Pattaya for 1200-1300B. Offer them this price first, don't ask them "How much to Pattaya?".

From airport I use a limo from hotel - 1300 from Don Muang + toll roed + parking, of that 300 is for hotel.

From Pratunam a taxi on the meter is a little over 900 baht + tollroads around 120

Tollroads from old airport was 145 baht, from new airport it's 60 baht I think...

The most fun way to get to Pattaya would be to flag down a tuktuk. Tell him you will give him 600 baht to take you to Pattaya. And if he gets you there as fast as his tuktuk will go, there is another 600 tip in it for him. Put on a helmet and hold on to your willy! <grin :D :P

Thanks for all the great replies, it has given me 3-4 ways to Pattaya. I haven't replies untill now as I was bed ridden with the flu (I rather be sick now then two weeks later when I leave for Thailand hehehe)

I now have found Toom's contact details. I am 50/50 on using Toom or using the Bus option, not becouse I am a cheap charlie but just for experience of it (first trip)

Next weekend I'll be doing my final planning and will deside then.

Again thanks.

I always take the bus, it's about the same amount of time and a lot cheaper, only drawback is if you;re dragging a lot of luggage around it's a pain in the ass, but like i said if money is an issue then nothing beats it.

travlling....... :bj2

If you stay at Sukumvit and your hotel is near the BTS train station, it is very convient and fast if you take a train to the Ekemai station. From there you can catch an expres aircon bus (about 125 bath) easily as it leaves every half an hour and take less than two hours to reach Pattaya. I prefer bus over taxi, becasue it is more comfortable and safer. I took this route in August 06, it took me less than 2 1/2 to reach Pattaya from the Nana train station at Sukhumvit.

Taking taxi is definitely better if you enjoy fast speed and skilful driver who are able to speed and chat with friend over handphone while rushing to get you to your destination speedily. This kind of FI taxi driver is very easy to get, so I wish you good luck.

Cheers
