Rideher Cup 2006 Photos

Recommended Posts

I used the new GALLERY to store the Rideher Cup 2006 photos taken at FLB and Burapha, but I forgot to mention it to anyone here in this section.

Well, here we go. The photos are here.

Thanks for posting the photos Martin.

It was a great day and well done Europe for their victory.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the players and to FLB for hosting the party.

Same time next year!

Cheers

Doggie,

With respect, if that's what you think makes a party, then you really need to get out more.

Because the event was advertised as a party, I had to pay triple (1500 baht!) barfine for the evening as long term barfine rules do not apply to Red Badge. Having paid this, I thought that I would at least have a fun evening.

How wrong I was. There was no fun. There were no dancing girls and the band didn't play during the whole long and tedious prizegiving ceremony. Just look at the 'party' pictures. Everyone is extremely sober and there's hardly a hostess to be seen.

Most of the guys were on draft beer and they weren't buying lady drinks, so the girls just disappeared off.

It was a really Cheap Charlie performance.

The most merriment I witnessed the whole night was two guys high fiving each other over some stupid prize.

Please do everyone a favour and do not advertise the event as a party next year.

Me thinks George has just seen the results of the first Ashes Test match.

The Rideher Cup party two years ago was one of the best nights I've had at the FLB, got smashed with everyone else with Dunghie running around with his expensive saki. :D

Much better than the standard party IMO, which I've seen (and judged) my fill - different floats for different boats.

Yes it was a great night two year's back Hub when us Yanks won. :drunk :party

Just goes to show that Euros don't know how to party.

George, BTW, no one forced you to pay the excessive barfine did they? :D :D

The RideHer Cup Party was thrown for the golfers who participated in the golf day. They all paid a contribution towards the food but other guests were very welcome to partake of the food on offer. How the golfers choose to enjoy themselves is up to them - I received a lot of very favourable comments from the players so I guess they were not disappointed. If other FLB customers were disappointed because their expectations were not fulfilled then maybe you should have had a chat with the management on the night. I know that Martin is a reasonable man and I am sure he would have been prepared to listen to you.

As far as the triple barfine is concerned, this is an issue for FLB alone.

Skygod, you were with a waitress (red badge) who was needed to serve drinks at the party, not to dance. The rules of FLB are that service staff are cut triple bar fine if they don't show up on a party night --- to serve customers their drinks, act as cashier, make shooters, etc. As it happened, there were about 40 golfers, assorted other customers, and their dates, so the bar was quite busy that night, and we needed every waitress we had.

The golfers, who had paid for the party, decided they didn't want to have a dance contest, so it was up to them. I didn't know we were not going to have any dancing until late in the evening, as it happened.

Sorry you didn't have a great time. I hope we can make it up to you at your party on the 5th of January :gulp

Martin, I was fully aware of the policy and I have no complaint or issue over this. I chose to pay barfine for the evening and it was completely 'up to me'

I didn't know we were not going to have any dancing until late in the evening, as it happened.

I think that many of us were quite surprised about that. It had been mentioned several nights prior to the event that it should be a good night and an entertaining party, so I was expecting the place to 'liven up' after the prizegiving.

I'm sure that we will have a good turnout and that there will be copius amounts of alcohol consumed :allright (Judges names still to be decided)

Now, about that barfine policy for hostesses,

As long as I pay barfine for a hostess at least one day in advance of my party, then it will be 400 baht? And as she is barfined, she will not be required to participate in the dance competition?
