the wall and the column of the entry-way are two different objects, but made of the same material

 

this is a stanchion to support the weight, and behind it is the actual wall

ok, so it's not an entryway, but this is common in Thai construction

 

there will be a beam/stanchion that sticks out to support the overhead load

 

 

 

in Falahng-land we tend to build using BIG breeze blocks, so the stanchion would be the same size as the blocks, but not in LOS

 

they try to squeeze every available inch out of the area

Yea, I'll give her credit as well as being a great lady. I've nothing negative to say about her whatsoever, and that's rather rare considering how long she's been in the scene. It doesn't seem to have ruined her personality whatsoever though. Fun lady...

 

Back in town? Oh hell... That might be some time now. I have a lot of new projects going on here right now at work. They have me working on some international initatives they want to roll out across all their facilities world-wide, so needless to say, it might be a while before I see another vacation. LOL --- Don't mind though, as Tokyo's rather kind to a handsome man like myself; i.e. I don't "go hungry" here, if you know what I mean!!!

Ok for all you young guys. I beleave "Hang" is a shortned form of a surffing term from the 1960's, "Hang Ten." This refures to moving to the front of the board and putting your toes over the end.
