Emirates from Newcastle

Recommended Posts

Booked the flight for my upcoming trip via the Emirates website... I fly out from Newcastle on the 23/11. Booking through Emirates qualified me for a 30% extra Skywards miles..... Just under 4000 skywards miles

Well, just checked my Skywards account and whilst checking out the current offers came across a little bonus offer for those flying Emirates from Newcastle during November...... The are giving 50% extra miles for those travelling from Newcastle to Dubai and vice versa, and also applies to the onward flight from Dubai as well. This offer applies to online booking made with Emirates. So it looks like I will be getting an extra 5200 miles added to my Skywards account. :devil

If your flying from Newcastle with Emirates during November, and have booked via the Emirates website and are a Skywards member you will qualify for the offer. Check it out on the Skywards webiste.

After mine trip I will also be sitting on roughly the same amount.....I am planning on buying the remaining miles to get the 75K, as some of my miles are expiring next year. Should get me a nice cheap flight for next June.... lets hope the £ v $ stays hovering around the 2$ point until after Xmas

with my airmiles i still have until sep 2009,so surely i would be better off building my miles up further before i cashed in for a free flight as you aquire more when you maintain silver status.

i don;t think you lose qualifying teir mile by using them .. i just cashed in 52k miles for a business class upgrade and although there now gone they still show as qualifying miles

Tier miles and accumulated miles are different.... If you spend your accumulated miles you don't lose your tier miles.

To get silver status you need to make 2 round trips in a year UK to BKK .... 26K in tier miles. That earns you silver status. As long as you fly 20K per annum with Emirates you will stay on Silver tier. Then there is gold tier on top of that - at 50K. I'll be quite happy to be silver.... it allows check-in at the Business Class desk rather than having to queue, and also access to the Emirates lounges, as well as the 25% extra miles for being silver.

This year i will have flown enough miles to be silver next year..... and have 2 trips planned for next year so that will keep me at silver for the year after.

Next year I plan to use my accumulated miles to help pay for my flight in June/July.
