Hotel on Beach Road/2nd Road

Recommended Posts

Guest Irishfella

I have just recently returned from the LOS. I stayed in Pattaya for a few days over NYE before travelling to Samui/Phuket and Bangkok.

I have decided that I didn't spend enough time in Pattaya and I plan to head back the 2nd week in April

Last time I stayed at the Residence Garden after listening to some advice on this forum. Nice Hotel but to far from the action

This time I would like to stay around the Beech Road/2nd Road

I would like to pay no more than 1500bhat per night. Facilities required are a lift, safe in room, security on door, swimming pool and preferably wifi internet.

I would greatly appreciate your recommendations to enable me to make the most of the Pattaya experience this time round

Thanking you in advance for your reply's!!

Hi,

Welcome to the board.

Without hesitation, I recommend any of the Sabai hotels. All are around the Soi 1 & 2 then Soi 4 area.

Sabai Lodge, Wing, Resort and the Sabai Inn.

My favorite is Sabai Lodge on Soi 2. Stayed 14 times now.

Don't listen to people that tell you this area is out of the action. Nonsense.

Soi 2 bar complex is a good area, also close to Soi 6, Soi 4 complex, Big C, best Soapies etc....

Walking St is 5 - 10 minutes on a baht bus, Soi's 7 & 8 even less.

Regards,

Haven't stayed here yet but choose it for its location which suits us.

This will give you a choice.

And you can always use one of the hotel booking sites to find what your looking for and then find if they have a direct web site. I don't find you get the rooms any cheaper by going direct to the hotel, but you don't have to pay until you stay so if you don't like it you can change hotels easy.

I agree this is a good location and the hotels are fine. I've stayed at the Sabai Lodge years ago and I liked it. Good value for the money.

The Eastinny on soi 7 has what you want although the in-room internet connection is via an ethernet cable that the hotel can supply. It ran ok and i never got booted.

One thing that you may want to consider. Doesnt the time you are planning to return to Pats coincide with Songkran this year?

I was there for it in 2007, never again! (thats just me though)

Hotel has toped out and the roof installed along with windows. Not sure when it is expected to be finished but noise should be less with only interior work beiong done.

There is also the Bella Villa on soi 4 and there is another hotel being constructed next to PIH, however don't know when its expected to be done but its further along than the one next to the BJ.

Its me also, I agree. I was in Pats for Songkran in 2007 and I have had my first and last one. A day or couple of days ok, But a whole fucking week!!!

Maybe at 38 I have got old early then I think bollox, Its Songkran, it becomes such a pain in the arse.

All seem to either love it or hate it. What ever floats your boat.

well i am in my mid 40's which makes me a tad too old to put up with childish, purile shit. songkran in pattaya is not representitive of what goes on in the rest of Thailand.

i will simply exercise my right to not be in pattaya for songkran again.

if you enjoy it, good luck , up to you!

- Soi 2 bar complex WAS a good area.

In 8 years I never saw this area so DEAD at it is now. Only a few guys for the all bars tonight at 22h30. Direct result is that most beautiful ladies quit this area for Soi 7/8 or Walking Street.

- Walking Street at 10 minutes, yes, by day.

But more 15-25 by night and more that 30 on Friday and Saturday evenings !

Soi 2 IS a good area!

I agree that Soi 2 is not as busy as Soi's 7 & 8, thats why I like it so much, but I believe that Soi 2 mirrors the rest of Pattaya. If Soi 2 is very quiet then Pattaya is quiet.

But then I am happy to agree with you, because if Soi 2 stays as it is, then better for me :D
