NGV conversions

Recommended Posts

Coming from naklua into pattaya on the sukumvit rd (1km before mini siam) there is a petrol station that ALL the ngv taxi boys fill up. (i think it might be jet). Look to the rear of the station for several bays.

Apparently next door is a conversion workshop.

sorry no idea on the price. 1 point is that all the taxi boys are complaining that LPG(NGV) is gaining in price and mpg is low. Of course they may be saying this just for a better tip!

toyota vios, 6 month old

anyone know the cost of NGV conversion ? and where to get it done (pattaya)

It's not cheap and probably not worth the 50,000 to 60,000 baht conversion cost unless you drive a LOT.

Another consideration is that it may void your warranty. I considered changing my Ford Focus to LPG but was told by Ford that it would void my warranty or at least a major portion of it.

About 50,000 baht. Lots of garages advertise they will do it. I urge you to ask around to see who are actually qualified because there is a LOT of cheating around on this right now.

A bit of warranty might be good too.....quite a few backstreet conversions end up as charred remains.

A lot. Maybe a majority if you count the people who are really pixxed off that their car has no pickup, they can't go far on a tank, and they have to wait an hour in line for a fillup once they find a garage with the fuel.

But a warranty? I doubt you'd get one - for all those reasons.

Hi

Just before the large Garage on the left hand side that sells the LPG on the Sukhumvit Road that the previous Guy replied about there is a Company called Pattaya Auto Gas www.pattayaautogas.com I had my Jeep converted last week at a cost of 14000 Baht it has a 2.5 Toyota Petrol in it and i found the man there very good indeed and very helpful nothing was to much trouble and i would have no hesitation in recomending him, I went to the large Garage that was previously spoken about but they quoted 20.000 and only used the same Guy to do the job as while i was there a man from that garage delivered a car from the large Garage for conversion, He supplies the Government Cirtificate that you need and all in all I'm a happy bunny, It cost me to run the jeep the same as my Honda Click now, Hope this helped.

Most won't do it on a relatively new vehicle, and I don't think I'd want to lose the remaining warranty either.

At one time you could get the job done with a government subsidy, not sure if that's still available.
