Pattaya Beer Garden update - 8 October 2008

Recommended Posts

Hi Pete

I have to disagree with both ThaiLearner and Pattaya Mad. (No wait a minute - double negative in Pattaya Mad's post - what are we to make of that???!!!)

I'm with Montydog. Shirts should go on when leaving the beach or poolside and be worn at ALL TIMES elsewhere. That's just a question of class - in my case "working".

(Unless you're in the Cap d'Agde Naturist Village of course).

Chances of TGs going topless ZERO so a blanket ban (i.e. no blankets allowed either!)

Oh yeh... must have a look at your vid (what was the OP about?????)

Glad you agree Andy;

Never mind the topless TGs, that's never going to happen.

When is Winglady back in town? :allright

How about letting guys take their shirts off during the day but not at night?

(For ladies, anytime OK of course)

Pete, how much did you pay that bloke in the black striped shirt? He got more face time in your vid than any of your staff.

By the way I'll probably steer clear of the pizza because the fish and chips are the best.

Hi Pete

Here is a "far out" suggestion for improving afternoon attendance at PBG. Since it is always hot there in the afternoons, why not feature an ice cream bar?

I have a Thai gf who visited the USA. She fell in love with Coldstone ice cream. For those not familiar with this American ice cream store, it features a cold marble slab. Upon this is scooped ice cream of whatever flavor(s) one desires. Then assorted "toppings" of your choice are mixed into the ice cream. They give tiny tastes of the wares before buying if you ask. I think the lowest price version in the USA is about $5 usd. The place is a big hit in the USA and I know it would be in Thailand. Perhaps there could be a special discount. 3 freelancers eat for the price of two.

You could steal their idea without their franchise fee ($5 million USD per country). :)

I'll be in Pattaya next month with buddies. We'll be sure to visit and show our green coasters.

Here is a link to their website to see what the finished item looks like:

Kolah, we do have a wide range of ice cream treats available in the bar. I've never seen the "coldstone" idea but will check it out.

Personally I consider the beer garden a beach bar and have no problems with no shirts, no shoes policy and no I have no plans on exposing my chest and six pack that's moved down and on into a keg anytime soon.
