i get 30 days at airport......

Recommended Posts

hi all...i am usa citizen and under the impression that the thai immigration office is in jomtien where im not sure???..i stay here 5 weeks at a time and get the 30days at the airport..can give me info on the extension process i/e should i wait till the last day of my "30 day" to get extension or can i get it anytime during my stay??? how much??

how long it does it take to get extention (1 day??) ?? what do i need to bring ??

how often can i get extensions??? can i do it every time and not be frowned upon..??? i would get a proper tourist visa everytime but as i work offshore no way to mail passports to embassy or if wait for visa in singapore takes 3-4 days and lodging factors cost heaps...not practical for me...is there such a thing as a one year multiple entry tourist visa that i could get while in Singapore .. ??? that would work fine for me..??? and worth the long stay in singapore one time to get it....

thanks for your replies on this...

cheers....

I'll try a few of your questions. Jomtien Immigration is located on Soi 6 maybe a 200 meter walk after you get of the baht bus. The extension use to be good for 2 weeks when I got my last one but have been told that its now only good for 7 days. Cost was 1900 baht. You need to bring a passport photo, photo copies of your passport info page plus copies of the pages that contain the entry stamp and your departure card and your passport. Go in the morning and they should have it done in the afternoon and do it about a week before your 30 days is up. If your 50 years old then I would recommend you getting the retirement visa with a multiple re-entry permit.

If you do have to wait a few hours to get your extension, I've been told that a good way to kill some time is to go to the nearby Yellow House massage on Soi 5. I've never been but have read some very positive posts about the services provided.

Immigration is on Soi 5,Jomtien, not soi 6, Emil. I think you've been spending too much time at Yellow House which is on soi 6. The service there blows your mind. LOL.

Thanks for the correction, I noticed another Yellow House massage just off of 2nd Rd where the Bangkok Bank is located. I wonder if its under the same ownership.

Also for the OP, try to go on a Wednesday. Then during your wait you can hop on a baht bus and head back towards Pattaya. Get off where the Jade House is located and if you buy a 200 baht drink voucher you can eat their free buffet. Dessert is extra. :thumbup

Good advice, Emil. But try not to give too many secrets away! To the OP...Arrive Jade 13:45/14:00 before the BBQ starts and before too many of the girls start disappearing into the rooms. Funny, I haven't been there for a couple of months, must try again soon. Good place.

  • 2 weeks later...
A trip to Laos or Cambo will give you an additional 30 days from when you return to Thailand. Not the cheapest but probably your best option.
I like this option, and a delux trip at about 2400 baht is not bad compared to the 1900 baht for just 7 days extension. just remember to take proof of your trip out of Thailand with you.
