RideHer Cup 2008 Group Photo's

Recommended Posts

I was lucky enough to be the official photographer for this years RideHer Cup event, and while it will take me a day or 3 to sort thru most of the pictures I took, here are a few of the highlights of todays games. They are currently not clickable as I have not uploaded full size pictures yet, but I will edit this post and add that feature when i do.

Thanks go out to Wa, Tik, Prail and May for braving the heat all day to brighten up the pictures somewhat :)

Here are the results of the 2008 RideHer Cup:

USA - 9 points

Europe - 9 points

The USA team won the 2007 RideHer Cup so they retain the trophy for 2008. It was a great contest littered with hard luck stories all round the course. The Euro's played out of their skin against a USA team with a lot of low handicap players. And some great performances including the USA captain Tom Adams and Little Brian beating Ian and Bruce 1.5to .5 in the opening match. Duncan and Steve G saved the Euro team in the final match by winning 2 and 1.

Here are the individual match results:

USA team first:

Brian and Tom 1.5 Ian and Bruce 0.5

John and Gentry 0.5 Taxi and Hub 1.5

BKK Bob and Clint 2 Andy and Bertie 0

Wi and Lat 0 Frank and Barry 2

Dennis and Eugene 0.5 Danny and Doghaus 1.5

Barney and Tim 1 Paul and Derek 1

Steve P and Mike 1.5 Terry and Davyson 0.5

Vic and Bill 2 Pete and Big Brian 0

Steve O and Sweatie 0 Steve G and Duncan 2

The spot prizes were won by:

Nearest pin - high handicap: Pete

Nearest pin - low handicap: Wi (inches from a hole in one)

Longest drive - high handicap: Andy

Longest drive - low handicap: Tim

It was a great day and a fine party in the evening. Many thanks to:

Martin and the FLB staff

Frostfire

Chicago Bob

Tom Adam - sponsors of the golf towels

Lots of golf happening over the next 3 weeks - the RideHer Cup is only the start of the golf festival.

Well done everyone.

Is his anatomy intact?

Congrats to Wi on another near-pin prize.

Glad to hear the day was a success, sorry I coudn't make it. :allright

As captain of the euro team I think a draw was a fair result and close matches are so much more fun.

Thanks to All at solar golf, Chicago Bob (for all his work on the course), FLB , and of course Frosty for posting these great pics. :chogdee :D :clap2 :clap2 :clap2 :clap2 :bow :bow :bow :bow :bow

I hope all who played enjoyed the day as much as I did

Cheers

Well it sucks that I couldn't go this year but I have to say I am happy with the result. Great job guys. I was a little confused with some of the pictures and the colors of shirts and teams but it all seemed to work out. Congrats Tom and all of Team USA. :clap2

Oh and Tom great job with not falling for the put off crap. Ian, so how many times did Bruce end up dropping his pants... or did you too? :chogdee :D :clap2

Here are some pictures of the award presentations at the FLB for the RideHer Cup Awards Party.

Congratulations to the winners (and the losers) and a big thanks from FLB for continuing this tradition with us for the 7th year straight. Thanks especially to Callum, Wii, Sai, and Frosty for organizing and documenting this event.

We had a great party last night, the food was excellent and the schedule was kept to!

After you tired golfers left, we continued to party until 3:30am. I'll post those pictures in another thread.

Here are the awards photos....

Congratulations and thanks to everyone involved. It was a great day with a lot of fun had by all. From Wi's closest-to-the-pin that missed being her third ace by inches, to Hilly's pressure-packed final putt on 18 to save a half on the back 9 match against Little Brian and me, there was more than enough excitement to go around. With a 9-9 result the Cup could easily have gone either way.

Thanks, as always, go to Solar Golf (Doghaus, et al) for their superb planning and organization, and to Martin and FLB for the continued sponsorship of Asia's -- nay, the world's -- premiere golf event!
