QUOTE(BigDUSA @ Jan 12 2009, 01:59 PM)

Sky-top no longer asks for all the money up front. I never said that Sky-Top is the best value in Pattaya. What I have said it's good value for the money.

No it doesn't have matched teak furniture nor does it have 500 count Egyptian spun cotton sheets but it does offer good value for the money.

BigDUSA: I guess you will just keep repeating this until the cows come home; however, with all due respect, the fact is that is isn't a good value for pattaya. It's been extensively documented in this and other threads, including many photos.

I'll keep reapeating that Sky-Top is good value because it is. It's the same few guys who complain about Sky-Top. You and CheshireTom have complained about Sky-Top for years and still to this day you've never stopped by and taken a look for yourself. Pics are nice but they can't show you if the AC is cool or the fridge keeps your beer cold nor can it tell you how the staff treats you

Let's keep it real it's a $14USD to $25USD a night place to stay. You keep repeating this, but the fact is that we are not talking about dollars and the USA here, we are discussing baht and Thailand.

I used Euro's and you pitched a bitch so I figured I'd go with USD and you pitch a bitch.

I am pretty sure you would be the first one to disagree with a punter who argued that $100 (3,500 baht) for good looking gogo and BGs represents a good value because you would have to pay $400-$500 for the same girl in the USA

Some guys in BKK are paying 3500 for LT including barfine. If 3500 was the going rate in Pattaya, I'd pay it but since the BG in Pattaya are willing to go for a lot less............................... :hijack:

What? No more money up front? What's Skytop coming to? Before you know it, one will not have to sign their "legl agreement" to stay there either!

Let's face it people, Denny is not going to get off his statement that "Skytop is good value for the money" - even if, as has been shown, it is not with the comparisons made. The pictures prove it for any semi-intelligent person!

The ac is cool but noisy as its second hand units from the old Skytop. I very much doubt the filters are cleaned. Anyway, the ac is always cool in guesthouses. Not exactly a boast.

Come on BigD, do you really think, with all the information and pictures that have been posted, that I can't make an informed opinion on the place? I need to see this magic fridge? :D

And some guys are paying 850 in Pattaya for lodgings when there are much better values out there............ see my point?

You're absolutely correct ...... the pics don't tell the whole story. So, just to expand a bit, as of 9 months ago both the aircon and fridges at The Seaside were brand new whereas those at Skytop were several years old.

As for the satff, didn't you have a run in with a member of staff at Skytop simply because you didn't like the level at which she played the music at the bar?

To the guy that complained about one of the bargirls out front with the music - who do you think you are. How would you like it if someone came into your home and took your tv control off you - not happy I bet. Anyway you will be happy to know that one lady got sacked because of her attitude to a customer so it possibly was your friend, but then again she wasnt your friend maybe she rejected your approach earlier.

Its only crap places that get publicity on here.

Ive not stayed in the RH, but have seen the rooms. They are the biggest Ive seen. The same size guesthouses in the soi have made 6 rooms out of the same space as the RH has 3 rooms. So they are double size. I would have made the place with 6 rooms, but Mulphy went for extra quality against maximum profit. The toilet alone is huge. You could have a watersport foursome in there no problem and as I get more depraved with each visit to Patts, I might just try it

Some people get pissed at Mulphy for being too pro active a businessman. But to me that says a lot about how a place is run. Its all about how much energy you put into a business. Skyslops boss sits and plays solitaire all day and promotes Skyslops about twice a year. The lack of effort shows in the place. Mulphy puts maximum effort into his business and therefore Im sure everything will work and be up to western standards of maintenance. For example, air con filters etc. FFS, he is Howard Hughes like in his maintenance of the draught beer pump/pipes in the bar and I never had a hangover yet drinking draught beer in there. I would have stayed there before, but hes as tight as a ducks arse when it comes to long stay discounts

Many a mickle make a muckle :clap2

Which includes posting positive reviews on this board under the false guise of a guest, I believe. And he has the balls to call Tom a snake.
