Irish rovers, Kilkenny or Rockhouse?

Recommended Posts

I shall be booking my flights nxt week to arrive in patts early Nov for roughly 15 nights and these are the ones ive narrowed it down(providing there are vacancies) to these three, all look more than adequate for me.

Any feedback from BMs who have used these places would be a great help in me making my decisions.

Cheers.

Have not used the Irish Rovers or Kilkenny but always stay at the Rockouse and the rooms are perfect. There are now smaller rooms for a lesser price that are nice as well but I have always stayed in the big rooms. The girls are very nice and Alex and Noi are great hosts who take good care of their customers.

Ive had a few beers in Kilkenny before and the owner is a very nice lad as well. Cant comment on the rooms though.

Esco stole my response...

Stayed at the Rock House twice and will be there in early November as well.

Don't listen to this man! He has only been going there for 20 years and still couldn't find a date if he didn't have a wingman with him!

Hi Mike, would that be Ron, the new owner as Gabriel has now sold out!

Onetrue,

I used to stay at the Cock & Bull/Kilkenny on all my trips until they raised their prices by 50+% overnight (monthly rates), however to be fair the rooms are 1st class and well furnished. I know they have vacant medium sized rooms on the 3rd floor available for your time. and one large room on the 4th floor!

Another to consider, equally as good but cheaper is "The Liquid Lounge"! The "Rockhouse" has what are IMO the best rooms in every way for the price, in the whole of Pattaya (especially their large rooms)! :banghead  :D

Does the Rockhouse accept credit cards and does it have a elevator for the higher floors? I could not find this information on their website. I checked out IR last time in Patts. The large rooms are nice, but I see 4 issues. First, no elevator; second, it does not accept cc; third, the in room safe did not appear secure; 4 there is no separation between shower and toilet.

None of the places you have mentioned have lifts, if you require a lift i would book into one of the bigger hotels like Metropole!

As for our safe's they have just been updated for new digital one's which are bolted to the wall and are very secure! :banghead

That quaint Glasgow greeting of friendship - bottling your customers :banghead Stay at the Rockhouse, only 10 minutes from intensive care.

I don't think any of the places with only a few rooms will have lifts. Some accept CC, safes are never 100% but their installation is paramount, shower over the bog is one of the classic design gaffs (but doesn't have to be if planned in advance or thought about).
