Baseball? Football? Hockey? fuhgeddaboudit!

Well, so much for lesser sports like baseball, American football and hockey, never mind the doomed Nascar. Too bad, it looked for a while like soccer might make an impact, but it's all over now:

New Zealand's Black Caps, the national cricket team, and the Sri Lanka national team will play a three match, Twenty20 series in Lauderhill, Florida, in May to launch a new strategic partnership between USA Cricket and New Zealand Cricket. The event makes sporting history, according to the organizers, as the first international matches to be played in the United States by full members of the International Cricket Council, the sport's governing body. Twenty20 is a shortened format of the game.

The last time the sport made significant history in the United States was in 1844, according to news releases, with a Canada v United States match that was the first international sporting event between two nations in world history.

Gitcher tickets!

Lauderhill is just up the road...

Guess I'll have to bringh a book to kill the ensuing boredom.

Now if the All Blacks had been in town, that would have been different.

In May, huh? With the NBA and the NHL play-offs in full swing, AND the second month of baseball season, our sports plate is already crowded.

Sorry Joe, gotta file this with badminton, darts, professional bowling and The World Cup. :drunk
