I just now watching Man VS Food and as usual , the americian host boast they have the best , biggest etc.

BTW Texan resturants may have the biggest food in the world!

Anyway , he goes off saying Mexican chilli is the hottest and its difficult to believe ; especially when I've had thai food! I've never tried the mexican chilli he mentioned so am in no position to compare.

Anyone tried both? Whats the verdict?

There is an indian chilli that's hotter than habanero, can't remember it's name.

If you are in Pattaya and fancy trying something hot, go to Metro Apartments on Soi LK Metro. They have a small bottle of Blairs Sudden Death sauce (Habanero based). I took it for the girls to try. One of them put it on a hot chip like it was tomato sauce. She almost spat it out and was close to dry reaching. The girls can handle hot, but this stuff is a whole new level.

The host mentions the Ghost Chilli but doesnt mention its from India.

Does cooking a chilli affect how hot it gets? If so , then the raw pounded chilli juice the Thai pour into their som tam must be close to the hottest eaten.

It has more than 1,000,000 Scoville units, the scientific measurement of a chilli's spiciness. Tabasco sauce ranges from 2,500 to 5,000 Scoville units, while jalapeno peppers measure anywhere from 2,500 to 8,000.

cooking it takes away from the heat

raw is the hottest

Hababero is good, but I doubt I'll get my hands on any Ghost Chili soon

my old condo in Rayong had a restaurant downstairs that served Habanero Spaghetti & you just knew when they ran out of Habaneros & served it with Thai chili

This is what the thais generally eat ; Bird's eye chili.

The bird's eye chili is small but packs quite a lot of heat. At one time it was even listed as the hottest chili in the Guinness Book of World Records but other hotter varieties of chili have since been identified. It measures around 50,000-100,000 Scoville units which is at the lower end of the range for the hotter habanero chili.

OK , question answered. Now I just HAVE to try this Ghost Chilli! Does Ninja mookata have them?

it says right in the sub-titling that water doesn't help because the spiciness is oil-based

I have some that I bought from Spice World in Seattle. They also sell them in our local Wegman's (a grocery chain in the NE).

I use them to season noodles and to make salsa.

A little bit of them goes a long, long way. My first time using them was a bit painful.

Think weaponized habaneros.

i find hot tea/water helps with curry. I assume its the heat , not the water that breaks down some of the chilli.

Hi,

I read somewhere that Scotch Bonnets are the strongest at the moment. However some English farmer has created one even stronger recently I believe.

I brought another bottle with me this time and will bring it to FLB tonight. Someone might like to have some on their pizza, God help you if you do.
