Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

One of the best tips I've seen on these boards was someone recommending the use of zip ties to secure their bags. I tried it last trip, and it worked great.

No, the ties won't protect your bags from being cut open (or the ties cut off), but they do provide some piece of mind against casual "browsing" by the hotel staff. Bringing a $5 bag of mixed multi-color ties lets you cut them off when you need to access something and then just recsecure it with a new tie. Yes, a crafty maid could buy her own ties to try to replace one they cut off, but the multicolor ones are probably harder to find in LOS (as opposed to black or white).

Have you/will you try it, or do you think that's a waste of time?

But, of course. if you cache your multi-colored ties in your bag, she can just select a new one while she's in there.

I too use them for the flight over and back, but not in the room. I usually unpack my bag and put it on the closet shelf. On the flight it only keeps the zippers on the bag from opening by themselves. Doesn't do anything to keep out theives.

I wouldn't be so sure about them preventing theft while checked in with an airline. Any barrier between your goods and a thief is a deterrent. Speed is the essence for a Tea leaf, so they will go for the easy option, unless they think the contents are valuable. I chose a backpack with a rain cover that covers the side pockets and main zip. not a big thing, but still more work for the pilferer, who would choose one that is uncovered.
