  1. The top 4 teams in the league are New England and Baltimore in the AFC and Green Bay and San Francisco in the NFC. They have the 1st week off. The 5,6, 7. and 8 teams are the lower divisional winners in each conference, who play the wild card teams. During the 2nd week of the playoffs, the 4 winners of the wild card games play the 4 top teams in the league, who have the 1st week off.
  2. The top 4 teams in the league get to stay home this next weekend as the number 5 and 6 teams play the wild cards. My 49ers are home for the next 2 weeks, and with one win will be in frozen Green Bay to put an end to QB Rogers season.
  3. The Steelers got kicked all over the field by the 49ers, Green Bay gets beat by Kansas City (!) and Dallas and New York are both working at volunteering to stay home for the play offs. With the right breaks, the niners beat New Orleans then the Packers at frozen Lambou. Its the Niners and Pats in the Superbowl, with the Smiths combining for 5 sacks of Brady, and the win,
  4. On my first night in Pattaya I went on a Soi 6 Bar Crawl with Hammer and MM. It really got me going in more ways than one. Go on a crawl, and you will not regret it.
  5. So................Who is he?
  6. Did a Google on HND and first got back Henderson Executive Airport in Las Vegas! I guess there has to be an HND in Japan.
  7. Seattle over Chicago. Then Green Bay over Seattle. Green Bay wins the super bowl
  8. And whats up with those tiny tires?
  9. Ducks by 14 points for the National Championship. TCU looked great tonight even though they could not score a touchdown.
  10. Maybe to get this threaad back on a track that could provide some useful information about Freelancers: Are the FL on Beach Road different in their services, cost, performance, and attitude from those who are at PBG and/or Walking Street?
  11. The Giants not only handled the Phillys and Atlanta, but in the last half of Sept. the Dodgers, Rockies, and the Padres. They were 6.5 games out of first place on Aug 15, and in 6 weeks were the divisional champ. No question they have the best pitching staff in baseball. Four great starters, a great bull pen, and the number one closer in baseball. FEAR THE BEARD! If Texas gets something going at home, the Giants win in 6. A Sweep is a strong possibility.
  12. I stayed at the Residence Garden on my first trip. Close enough to walk to walking street (only did it once), great pool and good food. The rooms are 2 room suites. Great staff and pretty quite. Great value and girl friendly. I recomend it highly for a first trip. Allows you to get away from the crazy stuff but still stay close.
  13. My two trips to Pattaya were 3 years ago when the baht was 36 and 32 to the US dollar. I had a great time spending no more than $100 a day plus hotel. That included all of my spending including a huge suitcase of new shirts that I took home. I still have new shirts in my closet from the trip. I ate mostly western food, had daily massages, and daily long time ladies from beer bars and short time at Soi 6. I never felt I was missing anything. I don't drink a lot, so some savings there. If you have a limited budget, a vacation in Thailand on a budget is better than a vacation anywhere else in the world. Don't be intimidated by the big spenders on here. Go and you will have a great time.
  14. The Giants beat the Braves 1-0 with Tim Lincicum throwing 14 strikeouts in a 2 hitter. Go Giants!
  15. I too use them for the flight over and back, but not in the room. I usually unpack my bag and put it on the closet shelf. On the flight it only keeps the zippers on the bag from opening by themselves. Doesn't do anything to keep out theives.
  16. Planes flying half full? The ticket costs are almost double what they were 3 years ago. Lower the costs and more passengers would fly.
  17. I used Skype every day on my last trip, usually at a Internet shop on Soi Lenke. Never had a problem connecting with cell phones in the USA. I found some shops that would not allow Skype, but they always had a phone booth they wanted me to use at a much higher cost per minute (sometimes 10 times the cost of Skype). I passed on them and found another. I was in Mexico recently and had difficulty with the connection and quality of the voice. It was the poor connection at the place I was staying.
  18. In Oct 2007, I spent 5 nights at the Royal Princess. It definately was not a mongering hotel. It would be great for you and your daughter. It included a very good buffet breakfast, and was 1600 baht for single. Located right on the Night Market, and a short walk to the moat. I would recommend it.
  19. I hired a guide in Bangkok and it was worth every baht. She picked me up at the hotel, and took me to the sights I wanted to see plus a few that I did not know about. We traveled by Sky Train, river boat, taxi, and canal boat. I paid for all expenses (mine and hers) including meals. I think she charged 1000 Baht a day plus expenses. I usually gave her more than that. She refused any tips, as she is not part of the tipping culture, so I gave her a "pay raise". I used her for a total of 3 days on two different trips. She even arranged for a private taxi to take me out to the Floating Market, the bridge at the River Kwai, and to Tiger Temple (great place). When I get back to Bangkok, I will hire her again.
  20. When I saw the OP, I thought of all the houseboats I seen in Amsterdam. It sounds like a great idea.
  21. I looked at China Air from LAX in April and was quoted $650 all in. Best fare I have seen in years.
  22. I have taken EVA twice from the West Coast to BKK, once in Evergreen Delux and once in Elite. The time before I flew Korean in coach class. For me, the extra money was well worth the extra comfort. It came out to about $7 per hour in the air. The leg supports alone were worth more than that.
  23. I stopped and looked the place over in October. It is fairly new, and the rooms are large. One of the good points for me is they have an elevator, a rarity on the Soi. The place was very clean and the staff friendly. The one problem is I spend time on the soi, and didn't want to have to pass some of my favorite bars every day with my latest.
  24. I used Skype every day during my last trip in Oct. Only had one bad connection in my 4 weeks in LOS. The internet connection can vary by shop. I used the small shop in the hotel lobby across the street from the new hotel on Soi Diana Inn several times. Low rates and good connection.
