I ordered fish and chips from WOW's version of 18 coins restaurant menu. It was priced at 270b. I went into 18 coins 2 days later and ordered fish and chips from their menu at a price of 190b. Save up to 40% my arse.

Maybe the restaurant has cut its prices and not told WOW?

And pigs might fly.

By all accounts the restaurant set the prices in the book, makes sense too me, the restaurant still gets its 180bht and the rest covers WOW's expenses.

Using Subs-N-Suds as an example, one of the food vendors available through WOW, a Cuban Sub sells for 210b at the restaurant (or delivered by them), and WOW sells it for 325, an additional 115b or 55% markup.

Subs-N-Suds deliver for free, WOW delivers for 115b over retail price, not to mention any possible discount provided by the food vendor to WOW.

When WOW first started, I think they were fairly competitive with the pricing at the venue, but I'd say that's not the case now.

Still, for those places that do not deliver, the convenience of ordering from the home is sometimes worth the extra charge.

But, it's good to know what the markup is on something you can sometimes have delivered for free by contacting the food vendor itself.

This is where a lot of companies get you. It could be one item out of a million but they still have something that is 40% off the original price. Technically , they're not lying.

How can you expect them to deliver an item to you under their cost ?

The 40% savings is obviously a lie, or maybe they think there's another delivery service in town that charges more than them.

Not that I use these services

But I always thought the 40% savings was against the prices charged by their competitor

How anyone could anticipate saving 40% off the actual venue's prices is frankly beyond comprehension
