Bette Davis, "What a dump."

I disagree. It ain't a dump, though many of you guys seem to be as prissy as Miss Davis when it comes to hotel rooms.

Years of dealing with picky, high-maintainence customers have made me a very low maintainence customer (thank goodness). Please take that into consideration when reading any of my future hotel reviews.

Funny how two people can look at the same photos and have very different reactions. :allright

Vic,

Kudos to you, again. At least you have gone to the trouble to take pics of the place to back up your opinion - that it differs from other folks' opinions is really irrelevant. Unlike others, at least anyone reading your review has something to go on when forming their own opinion. :thumbup

I can't disagree with anything you have said above. BigD touting Skytop or going on about his international political connections is similarly unbelievable.   Next we'll hear that Andropov and Kissi

Sky-Top has many repeat customers.

And there is a sucker born every minute.

I'm one of them and yes IMHO it offers good value for the Baht. Sky-Top is clean, friendly staff and has a great location.

You repeat the good value statement ad infinitum. There are also posts on this board from you stating that Mok is a great lay, you ate with Kissinger and Andropov, attended Cambridge, and that a Pontiac Vibe is a high quality car. :whistling:

based on past history, I'd advise BMs to take all of your posts with an extremely large grain of salt.

I have been lucky enough to allways find a Pattaya guesthouse/hotel that have Friendly staff and clean (imho, 90%+ of accommodation options in Patts are friendly&clean).

As for location, it's a matter of taste.

Many of the places i have had my accommodation are at same price range as skytops, but they have had better facilitys and more tasteful decoration, not to forget quality of craftmanship (re paintjobs etc..)+ free drinking water.

If i would enter skytops looking for a room and be quoted for 550+ bath/night, i would make a U-turn asap. Just like i did for on finn owned hotel that was about same quality as skytops, but was just 10k/month. (i like to see my room before i pay/stay)

I could recomend skytops good value for bath only if it were 200-300 bath/night and only to backpackers, who don't care about quality of accommodation.

BigD,

You are a great guy and one has to admire your loyalty to Skytop guesthouse but I do believe that there are many superior options available in the 700 baht per night price range.

I would say that Target Regency on soi bhuakow has better rooms available for 450 baht per night, their rooms include free WiFi, a balcony and an electronic safe.

BigD is a shill, but I have no idea why. I cannot figure what he gets out of it except the chance to be shown up as someone who would lead BMs to a shit hole without remorse, only to make a point.

Always beware of people who tell you how bad a place is but have never actually been there.

Vic, I don't need to jump off a high building to know that its going to be a painful landing. Not only have I stayed at many Pattaya hotels, apartments, mansions and etc since I first came to Pattaya, but when I use to walk everyday with Soi 7 we would stop at many places that appeared to be for those on a budget and he would take photos and post info on this board for those interested. I would honestly say that Skytops would rank last on any that I've personally stayed or looked at. Not only based on cost but also on value. My job with the Air Force before I retired was a cost/budget analyst so doing a cost analysis is something that I've done many times. I have nothing against the owner as I've never met the guy and when Bigd starting hyping the place for those wanting a place to stay for a month or longer the place isn't even in the ballbark when it comes to price.

I don't think he's a shill. I think he is a fool, a very nice polite fool to meet in person, who never thinks before he posts and is hesitant to admit when he is wrong. Probably a decent enough fellow, but sadly, he suffers from diarrhea of the keyboard. No wonder.

I made a point of visiting Skytop on my last night there (Nov 29th) as BigD was due to arrive that day and wanted to actually have a drink with the legend! He must have arrived late as I missed him. Never checked the Kennels but I was VERY impressed with the 4 Bargirls working there, far above the average!

I had to cancel my trip to Pattaya for health reasons.. The BG who work the bar at Sky-Top are good to go for 500 ST and 1K LT. Barfine is 300 Baht. Once again good value for the Baht. :thumbup

I wanted to drink with an other legend, Baron Münchausen and hear about his many legendary adventures.

Then someone told me his adventures were just imagination of a self-centred man :thumbup

I hope you are safe from the same rude awakening.

You can ask MM about Mok making her barfine and drink quota month in and month out. She had a lot of repeat customers. She was doing something right. Yes when I was stationed in Saigon during the Vietnam war. I was invited to embassy parties and I had diner with Henry and Yuri. My time at Cambridge. Great memories and just lubed fucking all the English gals. Last but not least my two Pontiac Vibe's. Consumer Report's liked them and they recommended them. Once again good quality at a reasonable price. :D

I don't need to ask Martin anything, you dimwit. I spent more time with Mok, including trips away from Pattaya, than I care to remember. She was a ladydrink leach and, to be candid, I believe she intimidated some of the other girls to try and steer LDs her way (she is built like William Perry :party :yikes: ). Luckily, MM has gotten rid of the piranas.

Give my regards to "Henry and Yuri". Which one loved jazz again? :moon :clap2

Once again it shows you don't know what your talking about. What a bullshit statement that she intimidated other girls. She left when she was sponsored. MM didn't fire her. BTW piranas is spelled wrong. It's spelled piranhas.

I am aware MM didn't fire her Denny. Also, it is not bullshit about the intimidation. I happened to have spoken to a few of the girls around at the time about it.

Thanks for the spelling lesson. Try turning the looking glass around on your posts.

and my sky top room had a breakfast bar. but it hadn't been planed/smoothed down. So the wood was rough. and it hadn't been covered [eg formica ] or even varnished. so why include one. most people wouldn't expect it. it just looked terrible. and i've stayed in 60b rooms when there was 75b t the £. I only expect clean and safe at the lower end. at 600b or whatever i paid i'd like water bottles not breakfast bar and microwave.
