Have spent quite a bit of time in Pats during the past 5 years, but never during the so-called "high" season.

Have booked a 2-month trip beginning in mid-JAN, but am sometimes considering chickening out due to being intimidated by the notoriety I have read on the Forum concerning the high season. Have already booked a hotel at a satisfactory rate, so that is not a concern.

My main enjoyment in Pats comes from the GOGO's, especially Babydolls & Windmill. When I was there last MAY-SEP, the WS GOGO's were slow (to put it mildly), & there seemed to be a lethargy about them. The girls seemed to have a humdrum attitude with no enthusiasm. Performances in the tubs & on the playmats were lack-lustre. Soi 6--same, same!

Will the WS GOGO's be asshole-asshole packed with punters in JAN, or will they just be somewhat busier than last summer? Will the dancers be showing more enthusiasm with the increased business?

I will be staying close to Soi 6 next trip & hope to spend my afternoons there. Is it likely to be mobbed. Last summer I had absolutely no trouble in haggling the girl's price down to B500 from B700 in several joints. What may I expect for girls' prices during JAN? Will they be negotiable at all?

MANY THANX!

In my experience, there hasn't been a really busy high season since 2005. It'll be busier than you remember, but not as bad as high season used to be. Thank the global economy.

Friends in the hotel business that I've spoken to in the last couple of months reckon that they've now split the year into 5 "seasons", whereas previously they had just three (peak, high and low). Basically, Mar/Apr and Oct/Nov are, by their calculations, shoulder seasons and they have adjusted their pricing structure to fit that.

I don't think you have any cause for concern. If the last two 'high seasons' are anything to go by, this year's will be practically over by the time you hit Patts in mid-January.

As for the girls, they vary of course, but generally speaking they're hungry for business and will negotiate unless they're stunners/well sponsored. Babydolls in particular has taken its reputation for hands-on fun up a notch in recent months, and for the price of a tequila or two, you won't have any trouble getting your tummy rubbed just about as soon as you walk in. Hope you have a good trip.

Yeah, good one.

I doubt you could tell much difference between highest and lowest, not as a visitor, that is. A businessman knows of course.

Not to worry mate. The high season will be over about the tenth of January. You'll have the place practically to yourself after the first week or so of the year. Times have changed.

The Chinese New Year will be Feb 3, and it is very busy in Pattaya at that time.
