At the start of my last trip in August/September I was getting about 41 baht to the Euro, it dropped as low as 38 during my trip.

I would say that it averaged at about 39 baht to the Euro overall on my last trip.

I don't know how much I will spend per day on my upcoming trip but if I spend €150 per day it should leave with an extra 375 baht per day due to todays better exchange rate (41.5).

It was about 50 to the Euro last year.

The problem is that the exchange rates are changing by a coupe of percent in a few hours and you cant really plan.

It's all swings and roundabouts; while I may gain 375 baht per day on a better exchange rate I have lost 200 per day because my room is more expensive.

It must be happy days for all the Australian and Canadian guys now that your currencies are on parity or stronger than the US dollar.

Not to mention guys like me who get paid in yen! Holding steady at 37 baht per 100 yen. That same 100 yen buys $1.25 US now.

It was 28 baht per 100 yen when I bought my condo...

Not so great for this Canadian. The Canuck buck has risen vs. $US but so has everything else. My Canuck buck is getting about 29 baht and I used to get 31-33. Plus the soi6 ST prices have gone up so my former $17 BJ is now more like $24.

In a global economy the wasteful Socialist Welfare States will continue to have their currencies devalue as a direct result of poor economic management.

 

Socialist Welfare States with commodities to export will do better while those commodities are in demand. At least until they're exhausted. This of course has noting to do with good economic practices.
