Hello mate, had your coffee in the bar yet?

As to the really new news.... will you be home before 5am,? :thumbup

Anyway, in reply to your "really new news" comment, if you check the time stamp of this message, it's not new news, nor is it even unusual.

jacko, I recommend you drink some prune juice.

By the way, to stay with the original topic, no early police action tonight either.

Seems like more than what happened to the WS places, which were told to close.

Perhaps some paperwork not in order, of the folding variety.

Pah... happens every year or two... and if memory serves me right they normally get it out of the way during the lull prior to peak season.

I am optimistic that the smoking restrictions which are applied more in Bangkok will also be enforced in Pattaya.... but I am not holding my breath. :clueless

Places like Marine, Insomnia Mixx etc etc are purely late late places and have always managed to reopen within hours of a full scale raid.

If you don't like the smoking in the bars, don't go. You might try an ice cream parlor.

I will decide where I will or will not go.....

If you are silly enough to smoke, don't take it out on me.

In my first incarnation as a monger, I was in both the Philippines and Korea when they had midnight curfews that were enforced. You can party a lot by midnight, but you had to get an earlier start. Was in Korea in the early 80s when they ended the midnight curfew and it was not particularly good news. If you were trying to set something up with a bar tender or waitress who got paid by the bar, you had to wait a couple of hours longer to get down to business--BTW, they wore red badges. Also, your target selection did not improve as the evening went on.

Lol, I smoke very rarely, but it is ridiculous to ban smoking in bars, least of all Pattaya. Just go outside and breathe all the smoke from trucks etc. Just because you don't like the smell, it is no reason for you to force your own opinion on everyone who enjoys smoking. It's a personal thing and one of the few liberties we have left.

Btw, there are many places in Pattaya you can go to drink, if you don't like one place, go to another. Who are you to tell anyone they can't smoke in a bar?

There aren't any trucks on Walking St at night.

Why is it ridiculous..... ? It is happening and being accepted all over the world.

Just because you smoke it is no reason to force complete strangers to suffer the smell and adversely affect their health without any regard.

The smokers can surely move to a seperate area, since they are the ones with the habit.

I am not the one telling them not to smoke in a bar, the law is.

Good manners is.

Consideration is.

Common sense is.

Self preservation is.....

Apparently liberties apply to smokers and not those who prefer not to inhale the exhaust fumes of selfish inconsiderate addicts.

It is specifically a problem when it is just 3 feet away..... I elect not to pass gas when people are that close.... :whistling:

You don't come across as too smart yourself.

Nothing to add other than personal insults...... :clueless ?

Your post above is grammatically incorrect.

I'm reporting on what has been happening.

Sort of like we all know it rains, but for some reason there are weather reports that tell you it's raining or about to rain again.

Do you have anything to add other than "it's happened in the past"?

I have a certain sympathy with Martin here.

The news channels here are headlining snow in Scotland today with phrases like- " Last year was the worse winter in living memory "

No it wasn't 1962 was.

" The problem is, this threat of snow is not going away in the near future "

Well not for December- January and February. :clueless

Nothing new under the sun.

Me and Herb are off to gather winter fuel. Oh, got my £250 fuel allowance today. A nice bottle of Scotch will help keep the chill out. :clueless
