I have been told (reliably) that one large go-go in WS will be closed, so I guess they all will be.

Reading the tea leaves (ok, talking to some Thai staff), it is looking like Dec 5 is going to be a no-alcohol closure day.

Soi7 posted on another board that Secrets will be open. Not that it matters to me, I'm going to the beach, and taking my own drinks.

Don't they escape these things as they are classified as a hotel?

It helps.

I doubt anyone knows for sure because the letter from the Police has not come out. If there is no closure, they probably won't send a letter. If there is, they might get it out on the 4th or even the 5th!

Don`t listen to them MM, they just want a day off :clueless

Don't know about FLB, but the norm in other places seems to be that the staff are required to give up their next day off in lieu of not working on the holiday.

Well, the police came around with "the letter" at the end of the night of the 4th, giving all the bars "plenty" of time to let their staff know whether they were going to be open or not the next working day.

The half-dozen bars and gogos I contacted in the WS area plan to be closed tonight.

It appears the police letter makes a strong request that alcohol not be sold and that bars remain closed today, but as far as statutory order, it is not a legal bar closure day as far as I can tell.

Anyone choosing to disobey the 'request' might find themselves getting trouble for other issues...and there is always something they can get you on.

My guess is that a small number of gogos will chance opening, many beer bars will open quietly, and it will be just a quieter night than normal, but not a full closure.

Nothing new there.

Incidentally, FLB will be closed.
