FLB has Don Julio, if I'm not mistaken. You can find good tequila in Pattaya, but it's comparatively expensive. I suggest bringing a few bottles from duty free on your way in.

Tequila Reef on soi 7 offers the brands you like.

Thanks guys ! Good idea on stocking up at duty free

For those who have never tried, that Don Julio is pretty good and very, very smooth. I only had it once and I was surprised by the difference in taste from the basic Thai bar stuff and the basic Jose Cuervo. Even if you are a tequila hater, you should try this stuff at least once. You will be surprised.

I believe you are only permitted to bring in 1 litre to Thailand. Don't risk a delay to the start of your trip, held up at the airport while they try to figure out how much Baht they can extract. Doesn't sound like it's worth the hassle.

The reason you don't see much premium tequila around Thailand is because the stuff costs over twice as much here as its retail price in North America due to Thai import duties and the mark up by the importers.

Still, it's a nice option to have when the mood for a smooth tequila strikes.

this is so true...the bar or house Tequila is nothing more than paint thinner really...alcohol is like anything else, you get what you pay for.

I would not know a good tequila from turps. You have however got my interest and as I rarely bring spirits with me I might give it a go. The only way that I have drank it is the lick sip etc with the salt and lemon.

How is good tequila drank?

With ice, chilled or whatever?

Better with a mixer?

Thanks

I have a friend who was an event planner in Vegas, and she said that Don Julio won some big tequila taste off contest there. It is very smooth.

I remember seeing Patron at the Villa supermarket at The Avenue on Second Road. There was definitely sticker shock at the price, something like 3000 baht for 750 ml. :o

The cheap swill you should use salt then shot then lemon or lime. Top shelf stuff i drink straight.

what do you charge for a patron shot? ( silver or gold both good) MM

We carry Patron Reposado and Anejo. Both are around 200b per shot.
