I miss all bars that were on 2nd rd soi 9 - especially the Pussy Bar.

Emergency agogo soi pattayaland 2

Uniforms - fun

. and that one

But on topic, I miss Catz
- Toyz has one of the original Catz owners still there and I think it's getting back towards how it was.

The Blues Factory - I know it's still there but I miss the barfinable girls - took some nice ones from there years ago

Anyone remember Stoney's on WS, nice bar to sit and people watch, and Stoney was a great guy. Sorry to hear he passed away a few years ago.

Stoney was a top bloke but his service staff made the place special. I still keep in touch with Veena the waitress who wrote the book on drink mooching but did it with such panache that you never really minded. I spoke with her yesterday as it happens.

Chang bar - in the now gone complex on beach rd/soi 9 [next to police stn] . did most of the very nice staff. ran by a german [?]. He appeared to be drinking heavy towards then end as he'd turn up at 4-5pm tanked up on his bike. Next time he had a pad on his head [motorbike accident?]. I recall Chang 2 opening in same complex and never taking off and Chang 1 going downhill and then both were shut next visit.

Bunny Bar - same complex. Must've done dozens from there. Wanker boss. Beautiful girls. I took a BG fro there many times. She just disappeared one day. Neither her family or friends knew what happened.

Meier's mosquito bar. Originally in 2nd rd complex between soi 8 and 9 [or was it 9 and 10?]. I did 32 girls from there easy. Run by angry old German [/?[ bloke and Thai wife. He was always shouting at staff commanding them to do this and that. It moved to soi 8 but was never the same. I always wondered what happened to him. Was it his wife who opened the small bar in the beach rd/soi 9 complex called peacock [?] bar [the first bar you came to if you walked down soi 9 and did a left]

Nice with ice - blowjob bar on soi post office. run by Chat a nice Thai bloke. Left as he had stomach problems and was sick of the girls/police nonsense. nice cool [temperature] bar. wooden floor, overhead fans. Only bar I've genuinely felt like a king in [that was PTY slogan at the time. "Pattaya: where every man is king". that seems an awful long time ago]. My last memory there is 2 girls rubbing my cock and while i sucked a breast of a third. And this was in the downstairs bar. upstairs had xxx movies.

Cosy bar - soi 2. German [?] and Thai wife [very beautiful]. Always rammed. Serious. Come after 7pm and you'd be lucky to get a seat. Great girl line up. Very popular. Customers would sit and stay for hours. allnight even. Still there [maybe new name?] ran by ex bargirl who I remember [but a shadow of itself. the whole complex i videod in 2009 and it was effing sad to see so many bars shut and the complex run down]

Hav to agree with wholeheartedly with ''Nice with Ice'' :banghead

They had 2 main BJ girls. I remember one was called Som. I can picture the other but not remember her name. I did a review of the place once and told Som I'd keep her name out, "No give my name. I want farang come. I want money" This was pre internet forum days.

The Bar complex which was demolished for Central World, another piece of the old Pattaya gone!

* not my original picture

Yep, I also miss the Soi 9 bars on Second Road. Good place for late night pickup with quality girls if I was still on the hunt. Also, the Cupido Beer Bar Complex on Soi Buakow that looked like an airplane hangar. I liked playing pool there late at night. Finally, Bubbles A Go Go on Soi Pattayaland 2 which later became Crystal.

As I recall, the bar complex at Soi 9 was demolished for View Talay 6. Central World came years after they had suckered in the buyers for the lower north facing floors.

Maybe we should start a second thread for the Zombie Bars....

The ones that are still open but a shadow of their former selves. My guess is that the list might be just as long or longer.

But on topic, I miss Catz. And many might disagree but I also miss Hammers old Cherry Bar 2, worthless when looking for a barfine but the best place in Pattaya to watch football :banghead

My choice would be Classroom A Go Go on Soi Pattayaland 2. Wasn't the same after Stan left. Best Friend Beer Bar Complex on Beach Road used to consistently have quality girls. Now you'd be hardpressed to find a good looker in there.

And you can see Chang 1 and 2 although I remember them being closer together. I think Chang 2 moved within the complex. Great days. Great place to sit that complex. Girls in front bars eg Bunny Bar would try and drag you in. Once I saw a tourist couple go past and 1 BG grabbed the guy. His wife went spare threatening to hit the BG.

Thai food was on sale at left hand front side. The toilets were a long walk over to the right and back.

Last time I was in there [2009] I sat down to eat my food. Bought a beer and had a look around. Another shell of its former self. And not 1 girl [no exaggeration] I'd have taken. And I'm happy with homely types. I was spoken for so it didn't matter but, yes, you'd be hardpressed.

You know Sailor Bar on soi 8?

That used to be 2 different bars in there. Can anyone remember the other one's name? The 2 Thai female owners disliked each other and would turn up the music volume to trump the other. I'm talking maybe 95-98 - ish. The other used to have girls dancing on the bartop. That was unusual at the time. First time I ever saw that. Then Sailor took over the space.

Dave's GB bar, the original one on beach road. Wee Andy's, bottom of soi 2 beach road end. The Wild Elephant, top of soi post office second road end. Also Spinneys supermarket, bottom of soi post office beach road end.

Mind you, wasn't yesterday that they were all there, nothing stays the same for ever !!!!! :chogdee :clap2

(Reason for edit), Also the big Marine bar in its hey-day, when it was the only place for freelancers.

Regards

Fireman Sam

I think you and I have discussed these bars before......

Dave's GB bar (on the beach) where they actually had their own toilet, and some guy put headphones on to keep a blackboard updated with the footy scores from the UK on Saturday nights.

He subsequently had a place on Pattayaland 1 and also on 2nd rd before soi 8.

I was told Dave died of a hear attack and Linda soon married a Thai man!

Wee Andy's missus made great Thai food!

There was another guy also a Brit called Dave, I think, who had a beer bar on Beach Rd ... he had a gammy leg.

We all used to have a drink in the Chang Bar 2. A Dutchman, Martin owned it and his ex wife owned Chang Bar which was two bars along and there was much bitterness and rivalry between them. Poor Martin is dead now. He was a tall, slim, fit looking fellow in his late 40s when he passed on. It shows that you never know what's round the corner.

The toilets were a fair old walk and we used to joke about getting a motor cycle taxi to go for a piss. The toilet charge was 3 baht and if you were a regular punter Martin would make a point of giving you the 3 baht!

I think he owned Goodfellas in Soi 6 when it first opened up after the Chang Bars were knocked down but he died soon after this.

Classroom was always my favourite gogo bar. I still pop in there occasionally for old times sake but the atmosphere is gone. There are some pretty girls there but very few punters. With all the nearby poofter bars and draught beer at 100 baht I suppose it's only to be expected. But it was a Classroom girl from whose lips I first heard the words 'Short Time' in about 2001. She wanted 1000 baht for a ST and it put me right off my stroke and I never approached that girl again.

I went to the Best Friend Complex last night and I had a look round the bars and there literally was not one attractive girl that took me eye in any of the bars and there used to be some darlings there. This was however at 1 am and the good'uns may have been barfined. 10 years ago our evenings were nearly always spent in Pattayaland and the Best Friends bars and there were always pretty girls who would wipe your face with a cod towel, pour your drink out, light your fag, massage your shoulders and even want to cut your finger nails. How things have changed.

The bar fines were 200 baht in a BB and 500 in a GG bar. The girls always were happy with a 1000 baht and would stay with you till the next day.

Unfortunately the lack of attractive women seems to be the norm all over Pattaya now especially in the beer bars. I had 6 regular girls at different times until about 4 years ago and they were all very attractive and good company. Every single one of them has got married to Falangs and only one remains in Pattaya, she married a German who set her up in a restaurant in Naklua.

Are you thinking of Mike Smith from Ceasars Bar, used to next to the police station on cnr of Soi 9 & beach rd. He had a gammy leg from breaking it badly playing softball.

So many bars have closed since I first came here nearly 18 years ago. A few I miss...like the old Vicky Bar on Soi 8 that was torn down with others for another hotel to be built. And the Bamboo 2 that was situated in the side alley leading to the yuck toilets. Had six gals from there, including the owner who was the best of the bunch. The one place I miss the most is the Maxim Go-Go in Bangkok that was above the Heidelburg Restaurant on Soi 4. Met some great gals there. But I don't miss going to Bangkok now since I have my Lady in Pattaya.

Tim Bar, beach rd [later she opened the go go on 2nd rd].

This was a long bar with a nice sea breeze if you were lucky, overhead fans and tv screens for the sport.

And enough girls to barfine.

I really enjoyed drinking there [save when it was rammed wen football was on]

It changed hands and name. One of the later owners altered something so the bartop wasn't at arm rest height anymore when you sit down. That was enough to put me off. The girls went downhill, too. LB's started hanging out there. And it was effectively dead.
