BLACK CAVIAR Wins Again

Recommended Posts

She runs here in Adelaide again tomorrow, they are predicting another bumper (30,000) crowd to attend Morphettville.... then off to the old dart. I think she will clean them up over there as well, will be watching with interest!!

You left the best of the Lot out Secretariat, his Belmont win was unbelievable.   Your right that well never really know who the best in the world really was but bookmakers and professional punters

I have been to Morphetville a few times ( i am from Melbourne), every time i have been the crowd would be approx 3,000

The bookies will be flat out scribbling tickets, no doubt their will be a few thousand first timers that are conservative punters and want to $1 e/w on the great mare to collect 4cents profit

Despite slight concerns on change of tracks I have taken a 1K punt on her for the Diamond Jubilee stakes in June. Got 4/5 with Paddy Power at the time, most others were 4/6 and shortening. :-) The UK racing fraternity are waiting with great anticipation and appreciation for her appearance. Silly betting on names I know but I do on occasions, and after today's efforts, Chachamaidee is looking fairly good for the Queen Anne at the same meeting. :-)

I noticed she's also entered in the July Cup - a couple of quid on Krypton Factor at 12s is my value bet though.

LOL. I used to regularly back a nag called Mai Pen Rai in the late 80s. As you say, not a good strategy! :uh-uh:

Speaking of being a mug punter who backs things by names only, i walked into the TAB today and the next race to go was a dishlickers event I had $20 e/w

Looking forward to Ascot ... Frankel returns today in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury. 2/5 is available for anyone who fancies his chances of making it a perfect 10.

Meanwhile, one of Black Caviar's likely opponents at Ascot, Krypton Factor, goes in the SQ Sprint at Kranji tomorrow.

Frankl stomps it ! .....But odds of 1/10 made it watching fare only

He looked kinda good and the 1/5 available on Monday seems like a bit of a bargain now. I read that Timeform rated the run at 147. Looking forward to the rest of the week and BC on Saturday.

Edit in: Just noticed ... and have stuck 20 quid e/w on your Chachamaidee in the 3.05 today. No doubt she'll live up to her name. :cry2

She did live up to her name getting out of the stalls though! A good day for the bookies I think. :cry2

Hi,

Unlucky. Lost 6 lenghts at the start. My luck, had the winner, cleared losses on first day.

Ah well! The day of reckoning for the Aussie lass! I'm sure some of our Aussie BMs will be helping themselves to the 1/4 that's freely available in order to subsidise their next Pattaya trip. It's hard to see her getting beat, but the 1/4 price, the stiff Ascot trip and the rain means my 20 quid will be going on The Cheka at 10/1 w/o the favourite.

LOL. The horse done the business (just) but I think the jockey might have been responsible for a few cardio moments down under! What was he thinking? :clueless

I'm not too sure what it means for her Timeform rating - she was/is rated at least 10 lbs better than those around her at the line?

very disappointing, she didn't run up to her best. I wouldn't be suprised if she pulls up lame

We will keep sending horses to Uk for the sprints and they will keep winning them but none will ever be as good as her, but unfortuantley she just didnt put in her best performance today, which is a shame for all the people who came to see her.

Hi,

I dont think we saw the best of Black Caviar. The ground wasn't the best and as wbennets says she may have injured herself. Still, undefeated and should retire now.

I agree. I don't think she's ran near her best for a while and I think it would be better to retire with her record intact.

Think they might race on. $600,000 bonus if wins at Flemington Spring Carnival (November) and $1,000,000 bonus if goes to Hong Kong and wins. They expect her to recover pretty quick from the back problems

She won't run again this year. Not enough time to recover.

More likely to retire now than have another preparation next year.

I think that would be the sensible option - retire with her reputation intact. As an aside, Frankel went 12/12 in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood - probably two more races for him before he starts earning the real money at stud. :dhorse
