Been meaning to read it for years, is it worth the bother? Does anybody actually know, or is it just one of those books people claim to have read in order to appear semi-intelligent? I have a feeling it may have sold millions, but nobody bothered to read it? Not exactly Harry Potter.

When Mr Rushdie was 'hiding out' it was in Castlerock, a very isolated part of N.Ireland. Mad Muslim extremists would be spotted a mile away...................then maybe Mr Rushdie might've stood out as well .................though it seemed to work............
