Fucking Broons win in double OT tonight! aaaaaaaaarrrrggggggghhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

San Jose is being San Jose to the end, I guess. Which will be this week, I guess.

But how about them Preds making me look like a loser (again) agin the Ducks. I don't think anyone expected that.

Nashville on the edge of being capital of the WORLD. Grizzlies win their first playoff ever, Preds have a chance to take their first series ever - AND country music. All they need is MLB to be perfect, I guess.

Don't want to argue with that, but this was the most riveting and easy-to-watch series of the eight.

Real old-time playoff hockey, all out, up and down, non-stop. A real barn-burner of a series, sorry

to see it end before seven.

Did you watch all five games? Seems to me the NYR had trouble keeping up, and they're my guys.

I am enjoying the Habs and the Bruins more. Both teams evenly matched and willing to lay it all

out to win. There is no substitute for talent playing well, and the NYR went out with a whimper,

emotionally spent after 40 minutes yesterday. A microcosm of the season, really. The NYR were

outclassed and outgunned. It really wasn't close.

As I type this the Canucks and Blackhawks are tied in the 3rd period 3-3. After game 5 they said Luongo was still their man, yet they started Schneider in game 6. Now Schneider is hurt so Luongo is back in the net. Will we see game 7??? :clueless

We will have a game 7 in Philly. What an ugly series. Revolving door at goaltender for the Flyers, but they win in OT.

Congrats to the Nashville Predators, who eliminated the Ducks. :clap1

Blackhawks/Canucks, a great game going to overtime. Before it started, the line I heard on CBC was "Hawks lead 2 to 3" Our neighbors up I-5 have been holding their breath for 3 hours.

Just gone to OT as I type. Intriguing game. You never get the idea that Chicago SHOULD win but they really hang in there. They are definitely a better team than their regular season finish. It'd be a real laugh if they take this series - which they really, actually might (but probably won't).

Vancouver can't really bring themselves to bully, and that will hurt them going ahead. Philly, you see once in a while little flashes of the bully, enough to hold them in there, IMO. Buffalo tried to baffle them with speed and finesse, Philly was having none of that. Flyers're a lot better than they were a month, two months ago, but not real Cup material, not yet but they show real good flashes.

'NUCKS FUCKED!!!!!!!!

Should be today's Vancouver headline. Hawks have clear heads going in to Game 7, Canucks not so.

Ducks out, surprise because I thought they had a good dark horse shot.

Here's hoping the Flyers get tossed.

Here in Canuckland we're doing well with the TV schedule. CBC has Habs-Broons on Tuesday followed immediatement by 'Nucks-Hawks.

Got a kick out of an actual one in the Province: Luongo weeps tonight. The story is on

the Chicago radio station that has put out this The Lion Sleeps Tonight parody.

Twisting the original lyrics to the classic by Soloman Linda, the 'Wimoweh' becomes 'One win away,' and the 'In the jungle the lion sleeps tonight' becomes "In the Madhouse Luongo weeps tonight.'

You can listen to it here.

Penguins are lounging around watching a good hockey game again. According to the programme, they were supposed to be playing in it. I guess they're going to take the whole week off.

Yeah my Pens have looked pretty crappy. Going to game 7. :beer I guess the Lightning weren't done.

What if the Thunder won the NBA championship and the Lightning won the Stanley Cup? :clueless

Canucks win it in OT 2-1! One of the better games I have seen in a long time. The Blackhawks goalie, Crawford, was unbelievable. Without him, it would have been a blow-out. My rooting interest (keeping another West Coast team in the play-offs and the Red Wings NOT having to play Chicago) was with Vancouver, but, damn, the Blackhawks were impressive.

Canucks fans feel much lighter today after getting that Chicago monkey off their backs.

Canucks vs Predators and Red Wings vs Sharks in the West.

Flyers knock out the Sabres. So much for my dark horse pick. :whistling: Ovie and the Caps are getting a nice rest.

Two game 7's yet to be played. No surprise that Boston and Montreal are still playing, but who'd-a-thunk the Lightning would take the Pens the distance? :allright Any chance the Sid the Kid will be wearing skates in game 7?

Here in Canuckland we got a treat, Habs-Broons and Canucks-Hawks back-to-back on CBC TV.

Hawks-Nucks was a great one! Fast, hard-hitting and great goaltending. Toews fighting off two guys to get the tying goal with 2 mins to go, wow! The whole city shitting their drawers when that happened.

I love my Habs but sitting on a one-goal lead scares the hell out of me. Keep attacking, they can't score if you keep them in their end!

Habs-Broons again tonight, they are both gonna be tired having to fly out to Beantown after the game.

Five minutes gone in the first period:

Is there a rule against Montreal using a real goalie?

The Pens are my team, but I honestly don't see them making it to the final. You can only grind out so many games with defense.

The Lightning are done

. . . as I was saying . . . :crying:  :hairout :D

On to the semis, then. What are your picks guys?

Mine:

Vancouver over Preds

SJ over Wings

Flyers over Broons

Caps over Lightning

Canucks vs. Caps for the cup. That's as far as I'm willing to go for now.

Same as yours but.

But I'm worried about the Sharks turning into, you know, the Sharks.

I think Philly is the real turn-around team, they got better in every game as the Buffalo series went on. I still think as I said at the start that Philly can definitely regain it.

Still, if the Caps want it, they can have it. Do they? (And this, from a guy who said the East doesn't match the West, which it doesn't overall.)

Broons did tuff guy shit vs. Habs so I'm looking for the Flyers to give them a few lumps and bruises. Should be a good series given da Broons el foldo last year.
