Emirates ex Manchester

Recommended Posts

Interesting to see the new Emirates morning flight EK021 which started 1st May arrived with 237 passengers (only 3 spare seats) and the afternoon EK 017 arrived with 511 passengers.

Won't be long (Sept/Oct 2011 best guess) before another A380 will be introduced and the EK021 A330 will be replaced with a B777-300ER.

I am looking at flights to BKK for early to middle of Oct.Out of MAN.

So i thought hey why not test out the A380,a bit of a waste of time(literally)lol.

The only A380 out of manchester is 1415hrs,arrive Dubai 0015 so far great.Unfortunately the first available connection to BKK is 0940hrs==9+1/2 hrs layover. Not for me thank you, guess ill be flying the tonka toys for a while yet.

I would love to know what you guys think about immigration's ability to handle that many people arriving at one gate...

You have to get off fast and walk very quickly lol.

Having said that if you take the none A380 flights they usually arrive about the same time as Etihad,so 2 tonka's or one monster.

Use Emirates A380 often, never any difference that I can see at immigration or baggage collection.

The only thing now is it worth the £714(over £100 more)for the experience.I guess over a 6 mnth stay its ok.

Worth re-checking your price as Emirates has dropped their fuel surcharge from yesterday.

Immigration is not at the gate.

Whether the gate can handle the number of people (special gates required with double level bridges, 2 to lower doors, one to upper)

Then the next question of whether Immigration can handle the rush.... well to be honest they don't handle it too well already.
