Hi,

That type of thing happens in Italy. Not in England. :bhappy See Ashley Young's "penalty" ?

Yeah, on an Oz channel in Thailand..................

Too much of that shit going on and I would like to see players banned retroactively for it.

But good Nani goal.

Whats all the hype about?.   If you want to see real football teams play then check out great teams like Bayern Munich or Barcelona

Blackburn can. I thought it was hilarious, coming a few minutes after Sir Alex said he just wants to hang around another three years.   .

Hi,   I think the whole culture of football in England changed with the dawn of the Premiership/Sky era. Money and agents became the dominant forces. Other teams can win sometimes but how many times

Did you go to the Wigan game?

The result looked so out of form and almost 'arranged' to improve the end of season run in!

Hmm Wigan do it again. Quite the finishers!

Hi,

Wigan are a strange team. Seem to be able to finish the season strongly. Arsenal were trying to beat them for sure. Martinez is a good manager and I'd like to see how he would do with more money. Disappointed with how Everton played when they took the lead against Liverpool. I think Martinez will go to the top of my managers league ahead of Moyes after that.

There are a few decent managers who have made their mark this season. I like Martinez - he makes for good TV. Buck Rodgers who replaced him at Swansea has also done really well. Pardew at Newcastle is another ... I hope they are all in the Premier League next season.

Hi,

Newcastle seem destined for Champions League football after another good win. The Toon Army are on the march and Arry seems in trouble. Man Utd let a 2 goal lead slip to give Man City another sniff. I watched it in a pub where most the fans were Man Utd and they seemed really nervous all way through. I think they know they are no great shakes this year. Wolves go down after a hard battle against City.

It's all over. Eight points clear with six games left and I have my ticket for the Villa game on Sunday at OT. :chogdee

Hi,

Disciplined performance by City as they prove too strong for United. Ferguson shows his lack of faith in his team by picking Park ahead of Welbeck. City still face a difficult away game at Newcastle but its in their hands now.

As things stand, City is 4/7 to win at Newcastle and Utd is 2/11 to beat Swansea. The fat lady ain't taking the stage just yet. I'm betting on ex-City bad-boy, Joey Barton, or Shaun Wright-Phillips to score an injury time equaliser against the blue noses in the final game. :thumbup

Agreed, but he had his work cut out. There are some big fuckers in the City team and then they can bring on de Jong and Milner as subs!

One thing is for sure....City could not expect any kind of resistance from Sunderland or O'Neill against United in the final game! :-)

I would have thought de Jong would be over the moon, blue or otherwise. :ninja:

Hi,

Anyone who reads this topic know what I think of Webb as a ref. What a disgraceful performance in the World Cup. Nearly cost Spain the title and me money.

Hi,

Man City produce another excellent performance to beat an in form Newcastle. Man Utd maintain the pressure with a good win over Swansea. QPR seem to have saved themselves with a late winner against Stoke. Wigan see off Blackburn and stay for another year in the Premiership. Should be a good final day as everything is still up for grabs.

I just sincerely hope that both the final champions spot and that final relegation spot are not influenced by Chelsea fielding a significantly weakened side against "Notlob": And the much more likely lack of contest from Sunderland against Manchester United! A "guy in the pub" last night was advertising to all and sundry that he had bet on Sunderland losing 9-0; ....If that happens would the bookies even pay up ? !

Hi,

There is some serious questions about the integrity of the Premier League alright. Too much dodgy money and dodgy individuals from all over the World. Murdoch employs half of the journalists in England, and seems to have the rest in his pocket, so there is no critical analysis of some of the more strange goings on.

It is a pity Bolton couldn't work a bit harder and give QPR a more fitting punishment.

That was the craziest ending to a season I have ever witnessed! Credit to City for winning their first league title in forty-four years, I think over the thirty-eight game season they deserved it, United did remarkable to even be as close as they were. There's always next season when you are a United fan but I started to lose my passion for the game a few years ago. Their title was paid for with Arab oil money from a country that has a repressive regime, City must be so proud.

Hi,

What a finish to the Premier League. Man City get 2 goals in extra time to make most people in England happy. Mancini has done a great job with all the off field antics of Tevez and Ballotelli. Sad to see Bolton go down with some more bad ref decisions. Arsenal surprise us gooners by grabbing third. I'm very surprised, maybe some new signings(Podolski +??) and Wiltshire back from injury(?) and we can challenge next year. Liverpool finish behind Everton which ain't great after all the money spent. Can King Kenny survive ? Think its a bit churlish to single out City for dodgy backers. The Premier League is awash with all types of dodgy money and practises. Still great entertainment if you dont take it too seriously.

Good call by Khun Thaksin to get the ball rolling, as it were! I noticed he was getting the royal treatment at the City v United game.

I can't get over Barton though - to say he's got a screw loose is a gross understatement. Who the fuck in their right mind would want to head-butt Vincent Kompany ... ?

He will have done if he gets rid of the pair of them in the summer. They're both liabilities.

Hi,

Well Mancini seems to like Arsenal players. :cry2 Clichy, Nasri, Toure come to mind. The Portuguese clubs seem to be able to sell their best players and find new ones and remain competitive. Even Athletico Madrid had only a handful of the players from their previous team which won the Europa League again. They sold Khun Aquero to Man City and of course Torres was sold to Liverpool. Most of the teams in the Premiership , maybe even Man Utd, will have to adopt that strategy as Chelsea and Man City in England and Real Madrid and Barcelona in Spain have more money than them. Juventus are making a strong comeback in Italy and the Milan clubs always seem to have money to spend.

The thing that I find funny is the whole sporting spectacle that we witnessed yesterday will be totally lost on Vic. :bhappy

Barton is shining example of everything that is wrong with football today.
