I found a rather good one. It is called something like Rumrya or Bumrya (close enough). I'll update this if I remember to have a look-see as we go past tomorrow.

On 2nd road where it is 2 ways, across from some hotel CK something or other. Heading towards Thappraya turnoff it is not quite at Soi 17, just before that, so very close to FLB if you're walking.

Clean, well air-con which is vital for storing pharmaceuticals, very good prices, pharmacist speaks good English and knows his drugs and doses. This blasted cold has migrated to the lungs and I am keeping the cough and chest crud at bay with massive amounts of amoxicillin. 40 X 500 mg doses hermetically sealed for THB360. And 10 doses of Gravol for 10 baht. I bought some TMP/SMX (Bactrim) back in April for a very good price, from Roche, non-generic.

You'll know it as the name is close enough from my memory, and when you go it it looks like there is a separate little pharmacy inside which is accessed by a sliding patio door and where they sell bandages and things. I have no idea why it is set up this was as there is no outside door for the little extra glass room and so you have to be in the main one to buy something from there.

I bought three elastic bandages (after turning my ankle at Tuk.com - watch the floor close to the vendors) for THB100 - pretty cheap vs. what I pay at home, like $18 for the same.

Another one worth remembering is the Fascino pharmacy on Pattaya North road, about half way down towards the beach on the left. Huge place, big sign out the front. They have a big stock of the more difficult to obtain drugs and will order in for you. Also have a discount card available.

Is that a new one? The fascino website (http://www.fascino.co.th) has the Pattaya location on Pattaya Klang, between Sois 12 and 14. I have annotated their location map below:

MM...There's certainly a Fascino on Pattaya Nua but from Biggles' directions you'll never find it. It always amazes me that when giving directions only the writer ever knows where he's coming from and which way he's facing before giving " left" or "right" or "straight on". Do they think we can read minds? Fascino on Pattaya Nua is on the right hand side coming from the Dolphin roundabout towards Sukhumvit. I'd guess at about 200 yards from the roundabout. There's also a Fascino branch on Pattaya Tai, coming from 2nd. Road traffic lights towards Sukhumvit about the third shop past the school on the right, and opposite the temple. Hope I got that right after my criticism or I'LL be blasted!

I know you got the one on Pattaya Tai right, because I was just there today.

I also confirmed that there is one on Pattaya Nua, one on Pattaya Klang and one on Pattaya Tai. The one on Pattaya Nua is the biggest and best stocked of the 3.

Nice to learn something... never knew there was one on Pattaya Klang

The one on North rd surely is the oldest as it has been there for years.

Also a small one opposite the Tesco Convenience shop, behind Numchai, Sukhumvit opposite the Church.

" about half way down towards the beach on the left. "

You didnt notice this bit?

pattata nua runs West to East. I had assumed that people would realise that if you were going "towards the beach" then you would be coming from sukhumvit road direction and heading west. its hard to go towards the beach if you are heading east. sorry if you were confused perhaps I gave the readers credit for more intelligence than they deserved. !!

Let me explain to the people who don't understand....if you're starting at Dolphin roundabout " about half way down towards the beach on the left " doesn't get you to Fascino's. If you are giving directions state where you're starting from and which way you're facing. Makes it so much simpler. Make sense now???

You were the only one that didn't understand. Make sense now? And his directions were clearer than yours.

Jack

Mind you, if you have started at the Dolphin roundabout perhaps you already passed the place getting there.

Let's start from where everyone starts from, the bus-station.
