I like that shirt too but unfortunately I've never seen rugby shirts in Patts, I'll just have to fork out for the real deal in blighty! :hairout

Dennis at Metro Apartments usually has his ladies decked out in the relevant rugby shirts when he is showing a match,

so he would know where to purchase.

cheers rogero :beer :beer :beer

It's difficult to underestimate the popularity of rugby in Thailand. It's not EXACTLY a one-sport country, but you'll never lose money or be disappointed if you ignore pretty much everything but soccer. Even boxing, which once was king, is in the toilet.

About the only time you'll see cheap gear that is NOT soccer is if a factory here makes it and it's smuggled onto the free market. Used to get a lot of US stuff that way. Rugby, not so much.

I've seen Adidas All Blacks and Argentina jerseys in Had Yai , but I'm not convinced they're copies - and you'll have to pay 600 Baht upwards for them. No sign whatsoever of any of the other teams' shirts. unsure.gif

I bought some Adidas Lions shirts from the same source 2 years ago and if they aren't genuine, I can't tell the difference.

Mick there’s a shop just past Robins Nest and Eden massage on Soi Dianna Inn that has a lot of sports gear. Never seen Rugby shirts in particular but it’s worth a try as it’s only round the corner from you if your at Denise’s again. Try Buakhoa market as well.

I think I may have got an all blacks shirt at made in thailand soi9 and second but not 100% sure

Made in Thailand is no more. Knocked down. Few stalls selling out on the sidewalk, but the market itself is gone. Reckon there will be hotels/condo's there shortly.

,,,many many tailors im sure they could knock u 1 up ,,,,

Too true! I got some Stormers shirts made. I put my rugby shirt in the colour photo copier at work and handed the design over to my regular tailor. The dark blue shirts were pefect and so was the logo they made... :chogdee

I think there must be an Adidas factory somewhere down south because I found cheap Adidas gear in Had Yai as well

...and don't forget the Chantaburi Clothing Company...that look just like Cantebury rugby shirts....except they shrink after the first wash...

It comes over the border from Malaysia. The same stuff is available in KL.

Beat me to it. Almost everything in Hat Yai along this line (and much more) is NOT from Thailand.

The bext place for sports shirts I found is a shop at the bottom end of 2nd Rd on the right hand side as you walk north. It's after the side entrance to the Wat, just before a side street, probably the first onn off 2nd Road. If they haven't got it on display they can get it within a day or two. I think it's run by two brothers but I can't remember the name. I'm going out now but can check the pattataphotoguide later to see if it's on there.

Glyn.
