The whole ASN thing on True was a blatant rip-off IMHO. I've no idea who the Astro supplier is in Pattaya (or what size of dish you might need) but it shows plenty of live US sports. I've got to say that HD works great with the NFL games.

 

Back to the OP - I believe ASN gets the chop from True this coming weekend.

As I recall, getting ASN was the only reason I upgraded to the Platinum package on True.

You can get NFL games from nfl.com $99 for the basic subscription, streamed live, for the entire season. I just connect my laptop to my big screen TV.

Grammy will set you up with a satellite for ASN for 3,500 baht on top of their standard satellite setup. Here's the email and the address to write them. They seem very efficient. Couple of friends recommend them.

Apart from the slow Thai service and other issues, the problem is that this is one sport, for a few months. A sports channel offers a lot more. ASN had hockey and Nascar for example. If you start getting stuff sport-by-sport the costs really start to mount pretty quickly.

 

For the moment, I'm going back to my old solution, which is staying away from live scores, and getting games by Torrent or download. I watch a day, maybe two later.

I just downgraded to GOLD from PLATINUM package and let them know why.

 

I doubt it will do any good, but I'll save a few hundred baht a month.

You can always try something like this of course, and even stream it to your TV.

 

I've never liked these sites because they come and go, and because you have to download their software, who knows what's in it?

Why pay money when you can stream it from the internet for free. Check out this site. Been using them for years.
