Mate just got a flight with these guys going out Christmas eve returning in the new year for the bargain price of £435. London Gatwick - BKK via Kuala Lumpa

 

He usually pays about 8-900 this time of year may be worth checking out for you guys that are looking

Flying out on Christmas Day is often cheaper. I used to do that when I worked abroad. Not much demand for flights on the 24th or 25th December.

I checked them out when i saw the offering 1 way flights from Gatwick the week before new year at £250.Couldnt believe it.Though when you add on all the extras from the budget airline such as paying for food,luggage,check in,in flight entertainment,choosing seat etc it came to almost as much as the other cheap flights.Also it was 12.5 hrs to Kuala Lumpur with a 2.5 hr wait then 3 hrs to Bangkok.Not worth the hassle.

Rumour doing the rounds in the airline industry is that Air Asia X will stop all European flights in Feb 2012 and that includes Gatwick ! Announcement shortly.

Just a comment on Asia Air. I have used them a few times now and have never had a bad experience. They have a good booking system and they also appear to run on time. There are some smaller lines that I avoid like the plague but this is not one of them.

Air Asia X have just announced the cancellation of all flights ex Gatwick as from 1st April 2012.
