Unbelievable Video

Recommended Posts

I'm at a loss for words on this. The Video is from China news, you will have to get past the first part to see a video of a 2 year old run over in the street. I could write a whole page on the explanation, but you just have to see for yourself, watch the whole thing. The story was carried by world wide media, however the video was edited, this is the unedited version.

A fairly damning indictment of that place.

Quite astonishing and horrifying.

That's truly horrible, poor little kid, and goes far beyond the natural inclination not to get involved which we often see in western societies too.

The Chinese are well-known for their apparent indifference to the suffering of others (except family). I once asked my Chinese kung-fu grandmaster why this is, and he explained that it's all to do with the belief in fate.

"If I see someone come to grief in some way, that is his fate, and if I render assistance I am interfering in that preordained course of events, which may bring bad luck on me."

What a wonderful attitude, it makes you wonder how come Chinese medicine advanced to such a high art.

I wonder if they were able to clean up the CCTV image to get the van's license number.

Poor kid.

When I showed Jane the video, she had seen the edited version, she explained it just as CNN and others that covered it did. They only showed people walking and driving by. They did not show the van run over the little girl, stop, then run over her again, or the second truck running over her. The story I got the vid from said nothing about the truck driver being caught. However, Jane said that Thai news reported that both truck drivers have been arrested. The lady that pulled the girl out of the street was a trash collector.

I think it was before even you were born, Joe

What I figured. I haven't seen China near the top of the lists of countries promoting medical tourism. I say that as someone who's had acupuncture, but all in all, morphine was better.

Both truck drivers have been arrested, and the person who told the victim's mother that she had been run over was a trash collector. But the trash collector didn't pull her out, not according to China reports anyhow. Of course there are likely to be numerous versions and details as the story emerges

In China, people don't rush to the rescue of people - because they're afraid of being charged with the crime. The same is true to a large extent in Thailand - not the same, but similar. If you take someone to the hospital, for example, do NOT stay there but get away fast. For example.

The lady in the video that pulled her out of the road, was the trash collector. Otherwise, you're right on the money, Joekicker.

In China, there's quite a bit of outrage over this and many people are questioning the soul of Chinese society. Hard to believe, especially for those who always want to assume the worst of the Chinese people, but many still have souls and hearts despite decades of Communism followed by this current soulless capitalism and pursuit for riches.

I think they've got a long road to hoe, but people are waking up and there are outcries over many of the shameful things like this that are going on there.

Yet another example of extreme, outrageous behaviour, hurried along by outrageous and horrible people. This stuff happens. A long time ago there was a horrible example in New York City of a woman being raped and no one helped her. It makes society sit up straight and wonder and question itself - which is good. All countries are filled with people who would help this kid, including China. But sometimes there's just a terrible, "perfect storm" of things that make a society wonder where it is going, which part of China now will go through, as so many other societies have.

There's a thread currently under way that blames this on Islam, but that's as dumb as blaming it on Confucius or on communism. Dreadful, heartbreaking case, this. One hopes for a little justice down the road, let's see if Chinese justice is up to the task.

From the Beeb:

Chinese hit-and-run toddler dies

A two-year-old girl in southern China, who was run over by two vans in an incident which shocked the country, has died, hospital officials say.

You watch the beeb Joe? rolleyes

Sure. Not a lot of choice for foreign news on the box. I actually think the Beeb is superior to CNN International, which ASPIRES to be drivel. There are still people at the Beeb who aspire to be good, and once in a while the BBC World News is good. I lament its fairly rapid fall from its former dependability, but at least it has some - unlike CNN International, mostly from Yurp. It's all background noise to me most of the time. I find them both very grating in the background as the hours pass, but the Beeb a tiny bit less so.

But I read it a lot more than I watch it. Reading is good. Headlines take maybe four, five seconds, then YOU choose the content to delve into. Either way - watching, listening, reading, I don't take ANY media much more than a pointer to something that might be interesting. If it catches my eye or attention in some way, I'm away from that MSM and on to somewhere I can find it out in much greater and much more accurate detail.

Like, the ONLY thing I now watch on the floods is Thai TV, normally TNN which I think is quite superior, but sometimes NBT and sometimes Channel 3 especially in the morning, mmmm-mmmm-mmmm! They have very (pun unintended) in-depth coverage, HIGHLY credible from on-scene reporters.

You probably didn't want to know all that, but I kinda wrote so much to explain myself to myself.

That's one of the most disgusting displays I have ever seen. RIP and I hope the drivers are drawn and quartered very slowly so they have an idea how painful it must have been for the little girl. Watching it almost made me sick to my stomach. God help the person that ever perpetrated an act like that against any of my family. There isn't a death slow enough for them to suffer what I would have in mind for them. banghead.gif
