Hi,

I am heading for my second trip to patts in April to mid May, On my first trip i stayed at the billabong which i really enjoyed.

Maybe next time i would like somewhere with a pool and of a good all round standard, maybe around 1000/1200 a day kind of price range.

thanks in advance.

The Areca Lodge is a nice place. Don't know what their rates are for that time of year but you could probably get close to your price range.

The Evergreen wing has a really nice pool as well.

I read on here that no 18 or 19 year olds allowed in your room.

That would be a deal breaker for me.

I have stayed in the Opey many times. I was a little disappointed this trip due to the menace of many cockroaches. One evening we opened the door to see 5 or 6 scurry off. They sprayed the room but that has no effect on new arrivals. I have to also point out, that the toilet floor tiles are purely...

The Areca staff started to give me grief about a 19 year old one night but with a little discussion and no passing of baht, they chose to let it go.

They never gave me a problem with an 18 year old.

I had looked at the Areca on my first trip but had been put off for that very reason.

You dont need that when your just wanting to get to the loom:-)

Very gracious of them. I'd have checked out next morning.

I've heard a lot about this also. That would definitely keep me away. I don't want to have picked up a hot 19yr old only to get shit from the staff over it. If under 18, then yes thanks for saving my ass, but 18 and over, who's the customer here?

Thais are full of contradiction, prostitution is illegal, I mean what a joke.

Must wear a crash helmet, when I have seen a cop watching a family on a motor bike pass by.

And so on................
