last night england time in the pool,it was supose to be aussies V usa in the 100m swim relay final.

the aussies failed to medal and the french in a fantastic swim get up and beat usa.

the general feeling on talkback radio,"well we didn't win but neither did those bloody yanks"

 

cause for many years in the main international swim meets has been,aussies V usa,

the rest of the world just was there to make up the numbers.

Unfortunately they got stuffed in the Olympic qualifying the previous month. That said, their game against China was great - probably the best of the whole tournament.

 

If you were around in 1996, you might remember the televised national volleyball championships and the team from Lampang ... great stuff!
